WATCH AND PRAY VOL 2 OF 2 Preached ON Sunday 3oth October 2022 AT THE VOICE OF GOD STUDIO

Bridal Lodge, Nsugbe Anambra State, Nigeria BY

Apostle Peter Odoemena THE SON OF MAN The Most Compassionate

Transcribed by Deacon David Mbah Students’ Fellowship, MOUAU, Abia State

Prayer is the most powerful form of energy that you can generate and it manifests your desire according to the degree of your faith. When you pray, you take on a new mode of thinking, for you are thinking in harmony with the harmonious thoughts of God – all that is good. Your views and dispositions are transformed as you apply the truths of God to your daily life. In other words, the dynamic force that transforms knowledge into power is prayer.

THE SON OF MAN

SEVEN STEPS TO REALIZING THE PROMISES OF GOD HENCEFORTH; Preached from 6th January to 3rd February 2008 at the Household of God Onitsha; Pg. 151

You do not know what you possess until you go on your knees. Successful men on earth have always been men of prayer. In your ministry, without prayer, you can never make any headway. You remain static. No matter how you teach your children, educate them all round, if you do not kneel down and pray for your children, they are bound to be useless.

Prayer is the key [3]

The Apostles prayed. They lived the life of prayer because of persecution, when they were driven here and there, and they were hiding under the rocks. They were hiding in private closets where they clustered for fear of the Jews. Each time, their prayer was always, “God, save us from this hour.”

  • The LORD Jesus prayed when He was about to go away. The trouble that was ahead of him was so much that there was nothing he could read in the Bible or in any holy Book that can solve His problem, but prayers.
  • He went into prayers and said, “Father, if it is possible, let this cup roll away from Me. Nevertheless, let Thy will be done, not mine.”
  • What do you do whenever you are perplexed? Do you go to God in prayers? What do you do to change your condition? Do you only go ahead in studying the Bible and packing the verses in your head, thinking that it is all you need?
  • If you do not combine it with prayer – prayer means regular; constant prayer – there is no way your life situation can change.
  • What can you say about the man Jabez who was born with a curse? Did the study of the laws of the Jews deliver him? But he stood condemned all his life, for the law will only show you where you are condemned, but will not bring you out.
  • He saw his condition in the law of the LORD which was perfect and which was the mirror. Then he carried himself to God in the temple in prayers.
  • The Bible said, “Day and night, he cried unto the LORD saying, “O God of heaven and earth, the Creator of all flesh, change my condition. I do not like the condition I find myself. I was not responsible for my mother’s conception. How then is it that I am born with a curse? Please remove the curse from me, O LORD.””
  • He has read the Bible. He knew it is true. Studying the Bible can never change your condition, until you combine your knowledge and say, “All I have heard is the truth.” Then, carry the truth to God in prayers.
  • Only then will you have the power that will transform your life for the better. You will not be what you were again.
  • Prayer is such a great thing and remains the most powerful instrument God has ever been using.
  • What of the people of the Jews? Each time the people of Philistines came to them to fight, the first thing would be prayers and then rendition of sacrifice unto God.
  • From time to time in the Old Testament, they call for fasting and prayers.
  • If you are a prayerless child of God, you are the weakest. You are in the hand of the devil, and you know it not. The devil reads the Bible and preaches the Bible.
  • Hear Me very well. The only thing that scares the devil away is prayer. You cannot use the Word of God to cast away the devil. You use prayer to cast away the devil.
  • That is why, when you want to pray, stand up and pray. Do not kneel down, especially when you want to confront the devil. You do not kneel down before the devil and begin to order him out of your life. Stand up!
  • When you stand up, you then invoke the powers of God. Then you talk to the devil for the devil is a human being in spirit form dwelling in a human being.
  • The Bible said, “We are not fighting against ordinary flesh and blood, but with human beings without flesh; human beings without flesh and blood.”
  • Reference: Ephesians 6:12. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. AMP
  • They are spirits, and they are dwelling in fellow human beings. You hear their voices at times. As I am talking now, if you are harbouring them, they will be talking to you, telling you not to believe Me.
  • The devil is afraid of prayers. Satan is always in trouble whenever a child of God remembers to pray.
  • Reference: [1] The Second Book of Adam and Eve Chapter 6 [Seth’s conscience helps him. He returns to Adam and Eve.] verse 10 through 12. 10Then Satan said to him, “What will happen to thee if thou hide thyself from them one night, and return to them at break of day?” 11But Seth, when he saw how he kept on talking, and that he would not leave him-ran, and went up to the altar, and spread his hands unto God, and sought deliverance from Him. 12Then God sent His Word, and cursed Satan, who fled from Him.
  • [2] The Second Book of Adam and Eve Chapter 17 [Jared turns martinet. He is lured away to the land of Cain where he sees many voluptuous sights. Jared barely escapes with a clean heart.] verse 38-44. 38When those men heard these words of the elder, every one of Cain’s sons brought his wife, and another brought his daughter, and so, many women came to them; every one addressing Jared either for himself or for his wife; all alike.
  • 39But when Jared saw what they did, his very soul wrenched itself from them; neither would he taste of their food or of their drink. 40The elder saw him as he wrenched himself from them, and said to him, “Be not sad; I am the great elder, as thou shalt see me do, do thyself in like manner.”
  • 41Then he spread his hands and took one of the women, and five of his companions did the same before Jared, that he should do as they did. 42But when Jared saw them working infamy he wept, and said in his mind, – My fathers never did the like.
  • 43He then spread his hands and prayed with a fervent heart, and with much weeping, and entreated God to deliver him from their hands.
  • 44No sooner did Jared begin to pray than the elder fled with his companions; for they could not abide in a place of prayer.
  • Check the time you were praying with all your heart, praying fervently and not praying with mind-wandering.
  • There is something I have observed. Some do not pray. They think. When you kneel down, instead of praying, you begin to think, and you begin to ruminate on the whole the world.
  • Your mind will be wandering from pillar to post, thinking about motor, house, where you will go and what you will eat and how you are going to blend food. Yet, the person will be considered to be praying.
  • Some do not even know how to pray. When they kneel down, instead of telling God their problems and whatever they are passing through, from which they want God to deliver them, they will present “shopping list” before God. Shopping list!
  • The Bible said, “You should be careful for nothing. Through prayers and supplications, let your needs be made known to God.” And the greatest need every man has is salvation. Am I making any sense at all?
  • Reference: Philippians 4:6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. KJV
  • Check your life to see whether you are living the life of prayer – a life of quietness. If you are not living a life of prayer, you are living a life of confusion, for prayer settles all confusions. Prayer attracts God into your heart and into your being.
  • And when you form this prayer to be your habit, any time you do not pray, you will feel restless.
  • You can hardly go to bed and forget prayers. You cannot eat and forget prayers, even before you enter your office. In the vehicle, while the vehicle is moving, you are not with your co-passengers. You are in your prayer mood. You are always in prayer.
  • “Slim shot of prayer” is what William Branham called it. Fire a slim shot of prayer, not for yourself alone, but for everybody – for the nation, for those that are in authority, that we may live in peace. For the neighbourhood, fire prayer.
  • The life you are living today may not be as a result of your own prayer. There might be somebody somewhere who remembers you in his or her daily prayers.
  • You may not know how to read the Bible. You may not know how to preach, but you must know how to pray. Provided you have a good thinking faculty, you can pray.
  • You may not know any other thing but you know your condition. You know the condition you are in. You know about your family.
  • You can pray yourself out of the carton and out of the bottle where the devil sealed you and used cello tape to close you in a carton so that you cannot see the light of the day.
  • Prayer unlocks the key that is holding you. I am saying that prayer unlocks your future. Through prayer, you can see your future. You see your future world.
  • Even those that want to marry. You do not marry anyhow. Through prayer, God will direct you to the right fellow that will be your future spouse – man and woman.
  • Academically, without prayers, you are not going anywhere. This is because when the Holy Spirit will come, He will remind you of all you have been studying. Without the Holy Spirit, nobody has a retentive memory.
  • The same way, the Holy Spirit quickens the Word we have been hearing in us, which we use during troublous situations.
  • You do not know what is in you until the time for you to use it comes. Then you see God raise a standard immediately in your heart – in your mind.
  • MAINTAIN REGULAR PRAYERS.  The need for prayers at a time like this should not be over-emphasized.
  • This morning, did you pray before you came here? When you wake up from your bed, do not forget to pray. Did you remember to pray? Before you enter your vehicle, do you remember to pray. Before you enter your shop, do you remember to pray.
  • Even in the kitchen, do you not know that we have domestic accidents? Do you not know that accidents occur in the kitchen in diverse forms? Do not say, “I will not pray. I am entering the kitchen.” The gas you are using can be an explosive and tear you into pieces.
  • The hot oil there in your frying pan can roast you. The hot water in your kettle can equally peel off your skin. What of the electricity? What am I saying? Are you spared? Accident can occur anywhere.
  • Remember, who is behind accidents. It is the devil, for the devil cometh to steal, to kill and to carry away. But Christ has come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.
  • And that is why I ask for prayer. Oh no! PRAYER IS THE KEY. The LORD Jesus Christ started with prayer. He ended with prayer. Prophet Muhammad Raheem [pbuh] like other Prophets started with prayers and also ended with prayers, for therein is the power of Allah.
  • You draw your inner strength from the knowledge of the truth and then, life of prayer. The stronger the spirit, the weaker the flesh.
  • You cannot be reading the Bible and seeing vision, but the moment you kneel down to pray, God will begin to reveal to you so many things through visions. You begin to hear the Voice of God still speaking to you in a still small voice.
  • One that wants to pray and he or she wants to pray through, does not sleep. If you notice that sleep is your greatest undoing, that is the way the devil is fighting you, making you not to pray aright.
  • Reference from Ancient Scroll about sleep. THE TESTAMENT OF THE TWELVE PATRIARCHS: Chapter 1 [The Testament of Reuben Concerning Thoughts] verse 3. 3Besides all these, there is an eighth (8) spirit of sleep, with which is created entrancement of man’s nature, and the image of death. With these spirits are mingled the spirits of error. ……. Besides all these, the spirit of sleep, the eighth (8) spirit, is conjoined with error and fantasy. And so perishes every young man, darkening his mind from the truth, and not understanding the law of God, nor obeying the admonitions of his fathers, as befell me also in my youth. …
  • The first thing you request from God is to help you conquer the spirit of sleeping. If you conquer it, your eyes will be bright.
  • Then, you can now open your mouth and begin to talk to God in your own language whether you went to school or not. It is not something you are taught how to do. The heavy burdens in your heart are the things you take to God. It is what you have in your heart – that thing which is bothering you in the heart – that is what you present to God.
  • Prayer is so important. That is what we will use in presenting all our requests. Maintain regular prayers. Prayer is very important. That is what we will use in presenting all our requests.
  • There is no other way we can let God know what is burdening our hearts. It is only through prayers. Maintain regular prayers. Prayer will give us the victory.
  • If you have the knowledge of the Word of God, the next thing that follows is a life of prayers. BE THE ONE THAT LIVES THE LIFE OF PRAYERS.
  • IN ANY SITUATION YOU FIND YOURSELF, PRAYER WILL SAVE YOU, COUPLED WITH THE WISDOM YOU HAVE THAT THE lord gOD aLMIGHTY HAS SAID IT THAT THERE IS nothing impossible for god to do.
  • there is no condition god cannot change. that he has not done IT is simply because you have not asked him for it.
  • Look at the Bible. It has even given us the key. Matthew chapter 7 verse 7. Let Me read it in the Amplified version of the Bible. Be fast. I want to draw the curtain.
  • Prayer is such a wonderful thing that the key is there. If you ask according to His will, He heareth you. If you abide in Him and His Words abide in you, ask whatsoever you will. A blank ticket! A blank cheque! Pure blank cheque! Ask whatsoever you will according to the will of God, He will hear you.
  • Look at Matthew 7:7. Amplified version. 7KEEP ON ASKING and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. Sure! A door must be opened for you.
  • 8For everyone who keeps on asking receives;… For everyone, not minus. Why not put your name there. My Name is there. Without discrimination, God blesses people severally. He is the God of all flesh.
  • 8For everyone who keeps on asking receives;… One who keeps on asking. Not one who asks today and tomorrow, he says, “God has not answered.” And then, you stop.
  • You pray to God, but you do not know the day God will answer. Your duty is to remain praying. Do not give God a mandate, like some people use to give God a mandate. Do not give God a mandate.
  • You apply to God through prayers. Keep on reminding Him, though He has not forgotten. The day He will answer you, you may not know.
  • But if you pray for one day or two days and then you stop, you have failed. The Bible said, “Pray without ceasing.” Pray without ceasing. That is what it takes to maintain regular prayers.
  • Both the Holy Qur’an, the Bible, the Shinto, the Hare Krishna, the Grail Message, Eckankar, even the AMORC – Rosicrucian Order; all of them speak the same thing. Not even one spoke otherwise.
  • The Hindu religion emphasizes the need for regular prayers.
  • Reference: The Bhagavad Gita – The Greatest Devotional Book of Hinduism –Conversation Nine: The Science of Sciences and The Mystery of Mysteries, verse 20. Those who are versed in the scriptures, who drink the mystic Soma-juice and are purified from sin, but who while worshipping Me with sacrifices pray that I will lead them to heaven; they reach the holy world where lives the Controller of the Powers of Nature, and they enjoy the feasts of Paradise. Translation by Shri Purohit Swami
  •  That is what Yoga is all about. Yoga is transcendental meditation. It requires absolute quietness. You sit down in your quiet place and fold your legs. And then comport yourself very well and be focused. Before you know it, you are drawn away from the spirit and you begin to capture glimpses from above.
  • That is why Pentecostalism is of the devil. Pentecostalism is of the devil. They make noise everywhere. They make noise even in the market places and disturb the neighbourhood.
  • But their master said, “When you want to pray, enter your house, lock your door and make your request. God Who seeth in secret will equally reward you in secret.”
  • But when you go on the street and begin to make noise and shouting, you want your righteousness to be overblown everywhere, giving the impression that you are good when you are bad.
  • The Bible calls them Pharisees. The LORD Jesus said, “Do not pray like the Pharisees who make open show of their prayers, even on the streets and market places as if they serve God, when they are serving their bellies.” The behave as if they serve God, when they are worshipping their bellies.
  • Do not pray like them. When you want to pray, enter your house and lock up your doors.
  • 8For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds;…
  • Achievers never draw back. Achievers never grow weak. All great achievers are people that maintain constancy and continuity in their noble pursuits.
  • Maintain constancy and continuity in prayers. The LORD must test you from now to know whether you really believe this.

God said, “Do not complain but pray.”  Have you tried to change your situation? Have you tried to correct the errors of your children? Have you tried to correct the errors of your wife or husband and you have not seen any reasonable sign that they are changing for the better? Have you tried prayer? TRY PRAYER. Commit your plans into the hands of God through prayers. Trust in Him, doubting nothing. He must establish your plans so that, at the end, you will give Him the glory.

PRAYER IS THE KEY [4]

Most times, what our people do is fire-fighting approach to prayers. They kneel down in the morning and in less than two or three minutes, they get up. God knows all my need.

  • God knows all your needs, but He is putting you to test to know whether you really believe this Word. Even with your earthly father, a child that gets what he or she demands from the father just for the asking is already a spoilt child.
  • If you give your children all they ask for because you have them and you can provide them; and just for the asking, you will provide, you are doing more harm to your children than good. You are painting a rosy world. You are painting a picture of a rosy world to your children. You are spoiling them.
  • Paint a picture of a very hard and rough world. Give them rough training so that they will not see the world as a bed of roses. They will know that man must struggle before he will whack, and not man must whack.
  • MAN MUST WORK BEFORE HE WILL EAT. THE BIBLE SAID, “HE THAT DOES NOT WORK, LET HIM NOT EAT”, FOR THERE SHOULD NOT BE FOOD FOR A LAZY MAN. GIVE NO FOOD TO A LAZY MAN WHO DOES NOT WORK. YOU MUST WORK. YOU MUST LABOUR.
  • Your father’s wealth is not your own. You cannot acquire wealth as royalty. Any wealth that is acquired as royalty must be abused. It must fizzle out. Wealth must come as a dint of hard work, dedication and honesty.
  • Then with that same zeal, same dexterity and vision, it can be preserved because even the children were carried along in the labour. When you carry the children along in the labour, they will never abuse it, for they are a part of the thing. And they know what it took them to come to that light. So, they cannot in anyway abuse it while they live.
  • Just like I know what it took me to build this house. I know how My children rallied round [even friends and well-wishers] to assist Me. They knew while we were suffering as tenants in many houses.
  • Eventually, we went through hell, borrowed money from banks and things like that, and then erected this place. And it is giving us a little comfort.
  • Can they see anybody that is abusing it and ignore that person? They will kick you out of this house because they were denied too many things in their schools and colleges to enable us erect this house.
  • They were denied their comfort and were denied many things. Each time they came home, they joined the labourers in the work because it belongs to them. A stranger that comes here to abuse it will be their greatest enemy.
  • So, take note! So it is with every aspect of life. If you are knocking continuously, pressure breaks resistance.
  • Matthew 7:8, AMP. 8For everyone who keeps on asking receives;…
  • Remember the prayer of the woman who owed a great debt, and needed great help from the king. She pestered the king on a regular basis. Every morning, she was there. Every morning she was there.
  • The king got troubled and said, “Okay, I better solve the problem of this woman so that I will have rest.” Immediately, the king solved the problem, the king enjoyed rest and the woman went away enjoying her rest too.
  • So, it is between us and the Almighty God. He is the owner of everything. Visible and invisible, they belong to God. But He cannot give it to you anyhow. God cannot give it to you anyhow.
  • Even the devil does not prosper people anyhow. The devil makes more stringent demands than God. Go and verify from those that have had the privilege of serving the devil and the conditionalities the devil gives his adherents for him to prosper them, after which he will take away their lives prematurely.
  • That is why I keep on telling everybody, “IF YOU THINK IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE OR VERY HARD TO WORSHIP GOD, GO AND TRY THE DEVIL. IF YOU BELIEVE IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE, VERY CUMBERSOME AND VERY HARD TO WORSHIP JEHOVAH; TO WORSHIP ALLAH, GO AND TRY THE DEVIL AND KNOW WHETHER YOU CAN MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE DEVIL.”
  • You see people riding Posh cars, building mansions and doing many things. Yet, they are very unhappy. Have you enquired of them to know why, in spite of their wealth, they are never happy? Why? The Bible made it clear that God makes a man rich, He addeth no sorrows to it.
  • Everyone that keeps on asking, receives. Not one that wants to test God. Am I making sense? You ask in the morning. You ask in the night. And the following day, you will complain, “Since two days, I have been asking. He has not even considered me.”
  • Are you consistent? God knows that you are not meaning it. When your heart is there; your heart is ready, first, you will obey the Word. You were asking in disobedience to the Word. Is it not true?
  • You cannot live the life of disobedience to the Word of God and begin to ask for God’s blessings. Never!
  • That is why [1] You must pray to God, [2] Make your confessions of unbelief known, [3] Take a decision to refrain from all acts of unbelief and [4] then take God by His Word.
  • There is no good thing the LORD will withhold from Those that walk uprightly. Is it not the Bible? No good thing shall the LORD God Almighty withhold from those that walk uprightly.
  • Another verse says, “It shall be well with the righteous, but the wicked will never see good days.”
  • References: [1] Psalms 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. KJV
  • [2] Isaiah 3:10-11. 10Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. 11Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with them, for what their hands have done shall be done to them. AMP
  • Matthew 7:8, AMP. 8For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.
  • Who keeps on seeking must find. CONSTANCY AND CONTINUITY – That is what God demands. If you draw back, the Spirit of Christ will no longer be pleased.
  • [Power outage] Go and put on the generator. No matter the price of fuel, if we are wise and understanding, collectively we can afford to buy enough fuel to make our recordings globally.
  • So, I am emphasizing on the prayers because I know that we have acquired a great deal of knowledge of the truth. We have raised more preachers than prayerful men. Every Brother, every infant and every Sister can stand up now and declare his or her belief publicly without mincing words.
  •  If he or she believes that God is a human being, he or she can balance it even without making any citations in the Holy Scriptures, for the truth has already registered. But how many live the life of prayers?
  • If you form the habit of a life of prayer, you have become an overcomer already, for there is no way you can overcome trials and temptations without living the life of prayer.
  • Prayer weakens the flesh, and strengthens the Spirit. I repeat: Prayer weakens the flesh, and strengthens the Spirit. And God operates in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
  • Watch all that desire to live their lives in the flesh. They can never please God. These are the people that do not know what it takes to live the life of prayer, for they give their whole life attention to providing themselves with all their social and material needs, but denying themselves of the spiritual needs.
  • You may not have the time to read the Bible, but there is ample time for you to pray. When you go to bed, from the time you go to bed, the whole time belongs to you. You are to decide whether to utilize the whole of the time for sleeping or for prayers.
  • Anybody can disturb you in the day, but when you go to bed in the night, nobody disturbs you. Own your night. Own your day. Own every hour God has allotted to you.
  • Use it to pray. Use it to study the Scriptures that will be able to sanctify your heart and give you a place among those that are sanctified by the Faith that is in Christ.
  • If you want to be an overcomer, live the life of prayer. Live the life of prayer, without which evil will overcome you. Without the life of prayer, every kind of sin will overcome you.
  • There is no type of evil spirit that will never find its home in you [in your heart] because the time you should have used to pray, you will be using it to meditate on carnal carnal things. Carnal thoughts! Evil thoughts!
  • The devil cannot attack you when you are praying. It is after prayers. The moment you begin to pray, the devil is on the run, but he does not go far. He does not go far. He will be waiting until you finish.
  • The moment you finish, he will come close and say, “Have you finished?” He will meet you with one thing or the other.
  • But if at that time you say you have finished, and you are going away, you continued to pray; even as you are entering your vehicle, you are praying, you are not talking, you are there with your God.
  • When the devil notices that wherever you are, that there is light around you, he runs away.
  • He runs away because through prayer, you attract Light from the Lighthouse over your whole body. Your whole body will be illuminated with the Light from the presence of God.
  • That is why when you are really praying, watch! What happened as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles will happen in you.
  • It will come to a time when there will be a bright Light shining before your face. Yet, your eyes are closed. You will be having that feeling that you are praying inside a Great Light.
  • Only then will you know that really, you have hooked up with the Godhead. For there in the Godhead, the mouth is there, the ear is there, the nose, the eyes and the whole human senses are in the Godhead.
  • Your mind will be the mind of God. Your reasoning will be that of God. Your thinking will be that of God. Everything, God. You are now hooked up with the Godhead. No nonsense will be mentioned around you again. Every of your action will reflect the Godhead.
  • But you have been weak all these years, in spite of the Scriptures you have packed into your heart. And this is because you have been desiring to be a preacher more than an intercessor – more than a mediator.
  • You cannot even make intercession for yourself talk less of making intercession for your own parents and other people. A true child of God is an intercessor.
  • I have a Message in the Book form, “THE INTERCEEDING MAN OF GOD” and then, “WHERE THERE IS NO INTERCESSOR, THE PEOPLE PERISH”.
  • Daniel as recorded in the Book of Daniel Chapter 9, went into prayers. At the eleventh hour, the LORD appeared to him with the reply to his prayers.
  • Then he discovered from the mouth of God that only seventy weeks remained for them to leave the land of Babylon. He rejoiced. He began to make his confessions and the confessions of his people known to God, so that He will forgive him and forgive Israel.
  • You can read it in your Bible in the Book of Daniel Chapter 9. Daniel’s confession. Daniel’s confession. Daniel Chapter 9 in the Old Testament. If you see it, let me know.
  • Daniel 9:1-21, AMP. 1IN THE first year of Darius son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—
  • 2In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the books the number of years which, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass by before the desolations [which had been] pronounced on Jerusalem should end; and it was seventy years.
  • 3And I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes; …
  • Did he seek the face of the LORD studying? He had already studied. He calculated and found out that it remained seventy weeks. What did he do? He set his face towards the Almighty God in prayers.
  • 4And I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, Who keeps covenant, mercy, and loving-kindness with those who love Him and keep His commandments,
  • 5We have sinned and dealt perversely and done wickedly and have rebelled, turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. 6Neither have we listened to and heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
  • 7O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion and shame of face, as at this day–to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to those who are near and those who are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them because of the [treacherous] trespass which they have committed against You.
  • 8O Lord, to us belong confusion and shame of face–to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers–because we have sinned against You. 9To the Lord our God belong mercy and loving-kindness and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;
  • 10And we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in His laws which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
  • 11Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even turning aside that they might not obey Your voice. Therefore the curse has been poured out on us and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.
  • 12And He has carried out intact His [threatening] words which He threatened against us and against our judges [the kings, princes, and rulers generally] who ruled us, and He has brought upon us a great evil; for under the whole heavens there has not been done before [anything so dreadful] as [He has caused to be] done against Jerusalem.
  • 13Just as it is written in the Law of Moses as to all this evil [that would surely come upon transgressors], so it has come upon us. Yet we have not earnestly begged for forgiveness and entreated the favour of the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and have understanding and become wise in Your truth.
  • 14Therefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity (evil) and has brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is [uncompromisingly] righteous and rigidly just in all His works which He does [keeping His word]; and we have not obeyed His voice.
  • 15And now, O Lord our God, Who brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and secured Yourself renown and a name as at this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly!
  • 16O Lord, according to all Your rightness and justice, I beseech You, let Your anger and Your wrath be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain. Because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach and a byword to all who are around about us.
  • 17Now therefore, O our God, listen to and heed the prayer of Your servant [Daniel] and his supplications, and for Your own sake cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary which is desolate.
  • 18O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and look at our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You for our own righteousness and justice, but for Your great mercy and loving-kindness.
  • 19O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, give heed and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.
  • 20While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God
  • 21Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the former vision, being caused to fly swiftly, came near to me and touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice.
  • 22He instructed me and made me understand; he talked with me and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and wisdom and understanding.
  • 23At the beginning of your prayers, the word [giving an answer] went forth, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.
  • 24Seventy weeks [of years, or 490 years] are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city [Jerusalem], to finish and put an end to transgression, to seal up and make full the measure of sin, to purge away and make expiation and reconciliation for sin, to bring in everlasting righteousness (permanent moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) to seal up vision and prophecy and prophet, and to anoint a Holy of Holies.
  • 25Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; it shall be built again with [city] square and moat, but in troublous times.
  • 26And after the sixty-two weeks [of years] shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing [and no one] belonging to [and defending] Him. And the people of the [other] prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood; and even to the end there shall be war, and desolations are decreed.
  • 27And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator.

Prayer is very, very essential. I would not speak on this prayer for too long because once I give you the hints, then the Holy Spirit in you will develop the hints. Amen.

THE SON OF MAN

SEVEN STEPS TO REALIZING THE PROMISES OF GOD HENCEFORTH; Preached from 6th January to 3rd February 2008 at the Household of God Onitsha; Pg. 156 vs. 7

PRAYER IS VERY ESSENTIAL

I want you to give Me a little attention. In your own private time, go back to Daniel Chapter 9.

  • It is not only Moses that made intercession for his people. It is not only Samuel. Every true Man of God – every true One sent from the presence of God is known for intercession. He makes intercession for his own sin and for the sins of many.
  • The LORD Jesus Christ, a Mediator of the New Covenant made intercessions for His own son and that of many people. Though He committed no sin, but He was made sin, Who knew no sin that we might become the righteousness of God.
  • He suffered for iniquities He never committed. He was bruised and chastised for our own iniquities. The chastisement for our sins were laid upon Him. He Who committed no crime suffered for the unjust such as you and I.
  • Watch Daniel the intercessor. He never presented any shopping list. He did not say, “God, buy me a car. God, buy me a donkey. God, build a house for me. God, I want to go to university.”
  • Did you hear anything like that? “I want a wife. I want my children to go to this.” He never!
  • He approached God with a burden. The burden of his soul. He prayed according to the will of God, having discovered that it was only but seventy weeks left for them to go back to Israel according to the promise of God. And only those that survived would go back.
  • He realized that the entire nation of Israel sinned against God. They transgressed, and they were taken to captivity in Babylon. And in Babylon, all of them worshipped idols. They departed from the true God in a strange land.
  • They gave themselves over to the worshipping of dumb gods – dumb idols, except for Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. All the Prophets and all the priests joined in the idolatry.
  • The departure from the truth – departure from God was noticed by this Daniel. The LORD was with them because they were with God. Daniel now went into prayers. He did not want his people to perish. He went to God in prayers.
  • He acknowledged their sins and trespasses. Check the word he used. “We”, “We”, “We”, “We”, “We”, “We”, “We”. “O God our Father, We have done treacherously. We have departed from you. We have done iniquity.” We!
  • He said that he was making the confession to God, for God is the One that judgeth iniquity, and He is of purer eyes that He cannot behold it. He [Daniel] started making intercessions. He was focused.
  • How many so-called Pastors today can stand up and say, “Every day, I make intercessions for my flock”? Not even one. Rather, they are experts in recommending those that should be punished.
  • Instead of praying that they should change their habits and obtain mercy from THE SON OF MAN, they [Pastors] will rather be bringing up cases upon cases that will make those people to be completely expelled from the presence of God.
  • Look at Daniel. He never brought any case against the people of Israel. He knew they had already transgressed. He knew their weaknesses. He knew they had departed, but he came to make the confession on their behalf.
  • How many of our Ministers can stand up and say, “I make confessions before the LORD God Almighty on my behalf and on the behalf of my fellow Brethren. I know we are not faring well. I know we are erring, Tom, Dick and Harry.”
  • But you notice that the Ministers have assumed to be untouchables and sinless when they are also naked sinners. They cannot even confess their sins. Neither can they confess that of their people. But they will always be confessing their righteousness and the unrighteousness of their members before God so that they will all be destroyed.
  • How many of our Ministers live the life of prayer, man and woman alike? When a man does not live the life of prayer, how can the woman live that life?
  • That is why, every minute of the day, I say, “God, bless my wife the Queen of Paradise, Nzubechi SON OF MAN.” There is nobody who is practically and personally acquainted with her that does not know her as a woman of prayer who prayed every hour and every minute.
  • Reference: WHAT IT TAKES TO BE THE WIFE OF A MAN OF GOD by The Queen of Paradise, Mummy Nzubechi Joy SON OF MAN Odoemena; A Paper Presentation during the Seminar Session of the 26th Anniversary of the Bride of Christ Ministry Worldwide at the Conference Hall of the Centre for Environmental Management and Control, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus on Saturday 29th December, 2018; Chapter 4 verse 61 through 67.
  • 61Another supportive role is that the wife of a man of God is expected to be spiritually strong. She must be fierce in prayers. she must always be on her knees praying for her husband and her children. This makes her spiritual.
  • 62She must always be warring on her knees for her husband and children. Any wife that is weak in prayers is helping the devil to destroy her family.
  • 63You as a woman, as a mother and as a wife must be strong in prayers and in THE studying of the Word of God so as to always be in the right spirit.
  • 64A godly wife can save any situation in her family. A godly wife that is spiritually strong can change any situation in her family. A godly wife can save, even her children’s life.
  • 65Remember it takes you as a wife to do this. It is your role as a wife and as a mother. To raise children is never easy. Raising [training of] children is never easy.
  • 66You, as a wife, must be strong in prayers, lifting those children of yours to God at all times in order to help them because, as women, there is nothing we can do by our own power, but helping our children and guiding them through prayers. It will really help us to achieve success in training them.
  • 67A godly wife can change any situation in a family through prayers than through complaining. There are certain things that can crop up, instead of running to and fro, take time to really pray.
  • When My daughter was interviewed in Bonny, Rivers State about how she came about evolving a business in that island, she told them clearly that number one is the attitude of my Father.
  • “I have learnt a lot from Him. He is a man that is always focused and dogged. When he is all out to achieve something, no matter how difficult – no matter how challenging, He stops at nothing until He has achieved it. He closes His ears to all distractions. Any voice that runs contrary to that which He wants to achieve, He will not give it any attention, for my Father believes that when He gets to the end, He can reply His opponents, for their eyes will see why He gave Himself to that labour.
  • My mother also is a woman of prayer. And she enjoined us to be praying at all times. She said, “Pray for your husbands. Pray for yourself. Pray for your children. Pray for your future. If you do not know what to do, and you do not know where to go, go to God in prayer. He will direct you to the path you will go.””
  • When I read it in that magazine, I said, “Praise be to God that I am alive and My wife is alive and we have produced fruits that have started maturing. They have started living that life which we inculcated in them.”
  • Tell Me how you can be a successful Minister when you are living a prayerless life.
  • I remember those days when Apostle Kelechi was in the Faith. He used to gather the Brethren in what he called, “Old-Time Prayer Meeting and its Effects.” Old-Time Prayer Meeting and its Effects.
  • Today, there is no old-time prayer meeting. He cannot remember it again, but he can remember eating and drinking, and walking up and down pursuing money, instead of seeking the perfect will of God for himself and his family, thereby corrupting those that pinned their hopes on him.
  • Hear Me. Every true Man of God is known for living the life of prayer. Without prayer, you have no guidance. Without prayer, you have no courage. You have no patience. Every evil must dominate your heart.
  • Without prayer, how can you gather your flock together. How can you win the confidence of your flock when you are not praying for them?
  • Every prayer must be made by THE SON OF MAN. No Pastor! No Evangelist! No Apostle! No Elder! No Bishop can even bless a bottle of Olive oil. Everything will be directed to THE SON OF MAN.
  • Even sickness that befall families – infants and adults – not even one can lay hand on the sick. Everybody is directed to the son of man.
  • That is why I am going on leave. I am going on leave. I have announced it, unless He that is in Me says no or gives Me a little extension of time. As for Me, My desire is to go on leave and at least, have a little rest. That is My desire.
  • Watch! The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. The moment he remained praying, what happened? A vision came from God. A vision that cannot come when you are studying the Bible.
  • But while he was praying and making confessions, the LORD Himself heard it. A vision came, and the Man Gabriel Who He saw in his earlier vision appeared with the reply to the prayers.
  • Look at the man you say is a Gentile. Cornelius lived a life of prayer. During the time of his prayer, God showed him a vision that he should go to Joppa and fetch a man called Simon Peter who will come and tell him what to do.
  • Reference: Acts 10:1-5. 1NOW [living] at Caesarea there was a man whose name was Cornelius, a centurion (captain) of what was known as the Italian Regiment,
  • 2A devout man who venerated God and treated Him with reverential obedience, as did all his household; and he gave much alms to the people and prayed continually to God. 3About the ninth hour (about 3:00 p.m.) of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God entering and saying to him, Cornelius!
  • 4And he, gazing intently at him, became frightened and said, What is it, Lord? And the angel said to him, Your prayers and your [generous] gifts to the poor have come up [as a sacrifice] to God and have been remembered by Him. 5And now send men to Joppa and have them call for and invite here a certain Simon whose surname is Peter; AMP
  • Since you do not live the life of prayer, you live the life of sleeping. If you do not pray, you must sleep. If you sleep, you are not praying.
  • When the Apostles of God refused to pray, they slept. When the Apostles refused to pray, they enjoyed sleeping. First hour, they were sleeping. Second hour, sleeping. Third hour, sleeping. He then said, “Sleep on. Go ahead sleeping.”
  •  Refuse to pray, you may be eating and sleeping. Anywhere you are is comfortable for sleeping, but it is not comfortable for prayers and is not comfortable for reading the Bible and studying the Message. Yet, it is comfortable for sleeping or talking or jesting.
  • If you do not know what to pray for, why not make your confessions and that of your people known to God. Do we need to ask what we should pray for? Are you a stranger in the world? Are you the only person that has no problem perplexing you about?
  • SONG: [Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged. Take it to the LORD in prayer.]
  • Have we trials and temptations? Is there anything that is buffeting you about? Look at Mummy Nzubechi SON OF MAN. She remained praying and praising God until she gave up the ghost.
  • Even in that sickness, she gave her life over to study, to prayers and to praises. She gave her life over to encouraging the children around and to encouraging the Brethren, using her phone to send Messages everywhere.
  • She continued encouraging the Brethren to remain steadfast in the Faith, knowing that a good number of us have departed from the truth because of their crave for materialism.
  • Because of their self-seeking and their self-aggrandizement, they have been allured into the things of the world. Spiritually, they are dead.
  • So she continued. Look at the song she was singing before she slept. [When peace like a river attendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, ‘Even so, It is well with my soul’.
  • Though Satan should buffet; if trials should come, let this blest assurance control. That Christ has regarded my helpless estate and has given His own life for my soul.
  • It is well. It is well. With my soul. With my soul. It is well. It is well with my soul.]
  • So she continued singing this number IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL together with Wisdom My son. I counted it, and exactly the twelfth time, she gave up the ghost. With the song in her mouth, she slept. And that was the end.
  • What will be your own testimony tomorrow? Will you say that you have not been taught? I thank God.
  • Whenever God wakes you up from sleep, what do you do? What do you do? You can say you are going there to pass your urine. God is the one that woke you up from sleep saying, “Do not urinate on your bed. Go and urinate in the toilet.”
  • When you come out, you have no other business than to pray. If you wake up three or four times because you are pressed by urine, God wants you to stay awake and pray. Seeing that you cannot wake up, he uses it to discomfort you to wake up.
  • But foolish people can wake up, and after passing their urine, they will go and place their head on the pillow and be forcing sleep to come.
  • If sleep does not come, they will be thinking about every kind of evil they will perpetrate in the morning.
  • The Bible said that people go to their beds and foment evils. When the day breaks, they will come out and begin to practice them because they feel it is in the power of their hands to do those things.
  • Reference: Micah 2:1-3. Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. KJV
  • But a righteous fellow will go to bed, carry the burdens of his soul and the burden of others to bed and then present them to God in prayers. Watch a true child of God. If he prays through, his face shines. His face shines.
  • I am not going to go through Scriptures because I have it already in Book form. Prayer is very very essential.
  • There are two things that help a true child of God to achieve victory in this life. [1] Knowledge of the Word of God. Knowledge of truth. And then [2] Life of prayer.
  • If you do not have these two qualities, you are already heading to the abyss. You are heading to destruction, if you do not have these two: [1] Knowledge of the truth and [2] Life of prayer.
  • Constancy and continuity will help you. Maintain constancy and continuity with the knowledge of truth you have received from God and the life of prayer. I assure you, the result is victory. The result is victory.
  • Refuse to pray and the devil will be rolling you on the ground. Your nature will remain the same, for you cannot say to the devil, “Wait let me read the Bible for you.” So you have no excuse if you do not pray.
  • Any language is acceptable in the sight of God. Prayer has no language barrier. Prayer remains the only thing that enters places where our human minds can never reach.
  • Send a slim shot of prayer now to America, it will trace the people you directed it to, in their closets, for God travels with the prayers of the Saints. God follows the prayer about. Amen.
  • On this note, I want you to give Me attention as I read a reminder. A reminder. That is what I want to read to everyone that cares. Even if you do not care, do not hinder people who have need of this reminder.
  • It is a reminder to those who were with Me when this Message went forth. It can be a new Message to some others, depending on the time they embraced Me and the Faith of Christ entrusted to My care.
  • So, I will invite our Pastor Chizoba Udochukwu to come and read it and make a good impression of himself as the Pastor while reading.
  • This is not your family altar. This is the House of God. That is why I do not encourage you to sing the way you want or the way you like. You sing the way I want. You read the way I want. You talk the way I want. You dress the way I want. You behave the way I want.
  • Anything contrary makes you My enemy that moment because My eyes are upon you for good and not for evil.
  • No one that is allowed to have his own way will ever end it well. No matter your age, if God allows you to have your way in everything and behave the way you want, you will destroy yourself prematurely. You will end your whole life in disaster, in disappointment and in death.
  • On this note, I invite Him to the pulpit.
  •
