DO NOT BE DISOBEDIENT TO HEAVENLY VISION Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not  disobedient to the Heavenly vision” Acts. 26:19 ESV PREACHED ON 17TH SEPTEMBER, 2022 BY

BROTHER IKECHUKWU OFOEGBU @ Household of God, Nsukka

APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED BY THE SON OF MAN

You do not know that I am your Justifier. You also do not know that I am He that will condemn you. If I set you free, you are free. Anywhere you like go. If the Son of Man sets you free, you shall be free indeed. There is nobody; there is no Angel, no matter where the person is coming from, that will condemn you. That is why I said [that] if I tell you to do something, do it because I said you should do it. Quote Me; “I did it in the Authority of the Son of Man.” Let the heavens challenge your action. Bring it before Me. If I say, “Do not try it.” Stop there. Do not move an inch. He that sent Me is still with Me. He has never left Me one bit.

GOD IS INDEED THE MASTER PLANNER

I Thank the Lord for His Superlative Amazing Grace in my life especially the Grace to put down this Epistle that has been ringing bell in my heart for a while now, to the point that I woke up this morning with this same topic ringing like a bell in my heart.

  • I therefore resolved to be obedient to this call for the scripture enjoined us not to be disobedient unto heavenly visions.
  • Peter, the Apostle received a heavenly vision and wanted to play smartness but God proved his wisdom as foolishness that His own plan might stand for He is an expert in turning human wisdom into foolishness so as to confound the wise.
  • This happened when he was sojourning in Joppa. He had a trance while he was hungry where he saw a scroll containing varieties of animals and he was commanded to arise and eat three consecutive times but he said, no.
  • Acts 10: 1-24, “There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, a devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.
  • This man’s record was clean. He had a good heart towards God and towards his fellow human being. A compassionate man who feared God with his entire household.
  • He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
  • Remember, Peter saw his trance about the sixth hour while Cornelius received his own vision about the ninth hour.
  • And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
  • This man is a spiritual man indeed. He immediately understood that this was from the Lord unlike Peter who even had the temerity to say no Lord.
  • And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
  • He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
  • And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
  • And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
  • On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
  • The day after Cornelius had his vision, the same Angel that spoke to him also visited Peter.
  • And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
  • And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
  • Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
  • And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
  • But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
  • Simon Peter said no to the instruction he received because of his human reasoning. He thought that he could be made acceptable by keeping the traditions of his people.
  • And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
  • Imagine a common man calling God’s creation unclean or imperfect when the Creator declared that all He created are perfect.
  • This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
  • Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
  • Take note of this last verse. Peter was full of doubt about the authenticity of this message which came to him in form of a trance. He was still trying to figure out what the trance was all about when the men that were sent to bring him arrived.
  • Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
  • And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
  • While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
  • Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
  • Have you seen that it is God that helps you to obey Him? So if you are obedient, don’t be proud and boastful for God can make you to disobey Him so as to put you to shame for it is not he that willeth nor he that runneth but God that showeth mercy.
  • Even the Holy Quran says that Allah leadeth astray whosoever He willeth.
  • Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
  • And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
  • See the testimony following Cornelius; an impeccable record. To you that claim to be in the faith of the Son of Man, can this type of testimony follow you just like it followed and is still following the Queen of Paradise for the testimony of her good deeds will continue even unto eternity.
  • One of the persons I interacted with during her burial said that she will be satisfied if she could live just a little bit of the type of life Mummy lived here on Earth.
  • And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
  • Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
  • And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.” (KJV)
  • Peter had no choice than to heed unto this heavenly vision for God does not take no for an answer. Once He wants something, He knows how to get it from you whether you like it or not.
  • All that tried to dodge their heavenly vision ended up doing it just like Jonah.
  • Jonah 1:1-17, “Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,  Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
  • But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
  • Jonah thought he could run away from the presence of the Sovereign Lord. He never knew that God was already waiting for him at the other side.
  • But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
  • Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.
  • Have you seen that the sin of one man can put many in danger? That is why the Lord keeps warning us to be wary of an elder who is out of the way of truth; an erring minister.
  • So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
  • And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
  • The men of the ship knew that the storm was not ordinary. They perceived that it was an act of God for only God’s wrath could cause such an unusual storm.
  • Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?
  • Can you see what is happening? They knew he must have committed something against his God. They wanted to know what he did, his occupation, where he is coming from and his nationality.
  • And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.
  • Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
  • The men were what? Afraid, for they have heard about the great things done by the God of the Jews. They know the devastation He could cost when provoked.
  • Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.
  • They said to him, what shall we do with you so that the anger of the Lord might calm down for if not we will all perish for a sin we know nothing about?
  •  Have you seen that an evil man, an evil woman, an evil child; a disobedient fellow runs away from the presence of the Lord.
  • And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
  • He knew that he was the cause of the great tempest and the only way the people will be saved is for him to be separated from them.
  • Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.
  •  Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man’s life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.
  • The Lord has done what? What pleased Him. That is why nobody can be God’s counsellor. Nobody can be God’s adviser.
  • So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
  • After he was thrown into the sea, the sea became still for the evil man has been excommunicated from among them.
  • Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.
  • These men feared the Lord exceedingly. They made sacrifices to the Great God and even made vows unto the Lord. To God be the Glory.
  • Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” (KJV)
  • God is indeed the master planner. A great fish had already been prepared to serve as his transporter. Since Jonah wants to be stubborn, he had to be subjected to obedience through his suffering.

I am not happy with you. All Igbo people here. Do not think you are pleasing Me. You are not pleasing Me one bit. You are My headache. In this My last move, I mean My last step upon this earth, let nobody born of a woman provoke something in Me. I begged you in the beginning. I will never beg you this time. You MUST bow down by force. Whether you like it or not, you must bow down. Do not ever attempt shaking your head. If you dare say, over your dead body, definitely you will die, and the promise will come to pass.

HE SUFFERED THAT WE MIGHT BE SAVED AND REDEEMED

Jonah  2:1-10, “Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

  • For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
  • Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
  • The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
  • I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
  • When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
  • When he could no longer bear it, he remembered the Lord and hence lifted his voice unto the Lord and prayed unto Him for His forgiveness and redemption.
  • They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
  • And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.” (KJV)
  • Jonah  3:1-2, “And  the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
  • The same word Jonah rejected came to him the second time. Remember he rejected it the first time. The same instruction came back to him. By this time, he had realized that he must obey the voice or else he will have no rest.
  • And  the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.” (KJV)
  • Amen. The fish was his transporter that transported him to the land he was running away from.
  • Prophet Hosea also received a heavenly call which he could not resist no matter how hurtful it was to him.
  • Hosea  1:1-3, “The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
  • The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.
  • So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.” (KJV)
  • Hosea obeyed immediately that the perfect counsel of the Lord might come to pass.
  • Prophet Ezekiel was commanded by the Lord to eat animal excreta (dung) for some time; no matter how disgusting it was, he heeded to the heavenly call.
  • Ezekiel 4:9-16, “Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.
  • And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
  • Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.
  • And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.
  • And the LORD said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.
  • Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.
  • Just like Peter, Ezekiel declared he had never eaten anything that polluted his soul even from infancy. Despite his excuse, he still carried out the instruction for there is no reasonable excuse before God.
  • Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
  • Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:” (KJV)
  • Prophet Isaiah was not left out as he also received his own fair share of this heavenly call.
  • Isaiah  20:2, “At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.”
  • Saint Paul while presenting his defense to King Agrippa confessed how he persecuted the church of the Most High God greatly until he had a heavenly vision which he could not disobey.
  • Acts 26:19, “Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:’’
  • So if you are fond of turning aside heavenly vision from the Almighty God, please have a rethink.
  • This heavenly vision can come as a trance or even a personal experience. It can also come in form of instructions personally or collectively.
  • Just like God has declared Aba and Onitsha accursed cities. No true child of God who is obedient unto heavenly vision can remain in these cities and feel relaxed and comfortable until he or she makes a move.
  • This is not the first time God has given such instruction to His people. Our Patriarch Abraham received such call and he was not disobedient.
  • Genesis 12:1-5, “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
  • And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
  • And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
  • So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
  • And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.”
  • God who is Most Faithful granted Abraham all He promised him and even more because he was not disobedient unto heavenly call.
  • While Philip was meditating, he received a heavenly call that led him to the Ethiopian Eunuch who was on his way from Jerusalem where he went for worship back to his base in Ethiopia.
  • Acts 8:26-35,And the angel of the Lord spoke unto Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south unto the road that goeth down from Jerusalem into Gaza, which is desert.”
  • And he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning; and sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet.
  • Then the Spirit said unto Philip, “Go near and join thyself to this chariot.”
  • And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Understandest thou what thou readest?”
  • And he said, “How can I, unless some man should guide me?” And he besought Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
  • The place of the Scripture from which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb before his shearer is dumb, so opened He not His mouth.
  • In His humiliation, His judgment was taken away. And who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.”
  • And the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? Of himself, or of some other man?”
  • Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. (KJV)
  • Remember that in the time past God spoke to our fathers through dreams, trances and visions but now, He now speaks to us directly.
  • Hebrews 1:1-3, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
  • Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
  • Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (KJV)
  • (Amplified)“In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets,
  • [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
  • He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.
  • When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,”
  • So if you are expecting God to send a message directly to you through dreams, audible voices, visions, trances, before you will obey, you have missed it all.
  • Whatever instruction that comes from the Vessel that bears His name is a heavenly vision, a heavenly utterance, a heavenly instruction and should not be neglected.
  • If the God of our day, Apostle Peter Odoemena, the Son of Man (Blessed be His Most Holy Name) could not resist His heavenly vision despite how painful and sorrowful it is, to the point of parting physically with His most treasured possession, then who are you to resist it?
  • Ezekiel 24:15-18, “Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
  • Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
  • So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.” (KJV)
  • If you think you are suffering, then what could be more than a man parting with the Apple of his eyes. His most treasured possession.
  • The Son of Man had been a man of sorrows; acquainted with grief; who even bore death on his body on several occasions; He suffered that we might be saved and redeemed.

SINCE YOU KNOW THAT BOTH THE PAST, PRESENT AND THE FUTURE ARE ALL IN THE HANDS OF THE ALMIGHTY, WHAT SHOULD BE YOUR ATTITUDE? IT IS TO COMMIT YOUR LIFE, EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU INTO THE HAND OF GOD, TRUSTING AND CONFIDING IN HIM, DEPENDING ON HIM AS A FAITHFUL CREATOR WHO KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU AT ALL TIMES, WHOSE DESIRE FOR YOU IS TO MAKE YOU GREAT AND NOT TO MAKE YOU SMALL.

-THE SON OF MAN-

DIDN’T YOUR HEARTS BURN WITHIN US…? VOL1. PREACHED ON 30TH APRIL 2017 PG.73 VS. 8-9

3

THIS SHOULD BE OUR CONSOLATION

Isaiah 53:1-12, “Who believes what we’ve heard and seen? Who would have thought God’s saving power would look like this?

  • The servant grew up before God—a scrawny seedling, a scrubby plant in a parched field.
  • There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look.
  • He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
  • But the fact is, it was our pains he carried— our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures.
  • But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.
  • We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way.
  • And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him, on him.
  • He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence.
  • Justice miscarried, and he was led off and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people.
  • They buried him with the wicked, threw him in a grave with a rich man,Even though he’d never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn’t true. Still, it’s what God had in mind all along, to crush him with pain.
  • The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it life, life, and more life. And God’s plan will deeply prosper through him.
  • Out of that terrible travail of soul, he’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many “righteous ones,” as he himself carries the burden of their sins.
  • Therefore I’ll reward him extravagantly the best of everything, the highest honors Because he looked death in the face and didn’t flinch, because he embraced the company of the lowest.
  • He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many, he took up the cause of all the black sheep.” (TMB)
  • “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
  • For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
  • He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  • Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
  • But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
  • All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  • He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
  • He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
  • And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
  • Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
  • He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
  • Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (KJV)
  • If you have not seen these things identified in the above scripture in the Son of Man, Apostle Peter Odoemena (Blessed be His Most Holy Name), you are blind and miserable and yet know it not.
  • Remember, these troubles that come our way are God’s training. Our patriarchs also experienced it. The Apostles of old also experienced it. Even the Lord Jesus was not left out for it was not easy for him.
  • Matthew 26:39, “And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” (KJV)
  • He made this request the second time because he knew what he was going to pass through for it is not easy to the flesh. The spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak.
  • Matthew 26:42, “He  went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.” (KJV)
  • When the Lord Jesus Christ saw that he had no way of changing his heavenly call, he asked for the will of God to be done.
  • That is why I laugh at many, especially the so called men of God out there living flamboyant and luxurious lives claiming that God called them.
  • How can God’s call be all smooth and pleasant when the scriptures recorded that the call by God is a call to come and suffer with Him for the way of the cross is filled with difficulties. It is not a smooth ride. The road is narrow and sloppy. Only the tough in faith can pull through.
  • 2 Timothy 2:12, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:” (KJV)
  • If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; (ESV)
  • “If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny and disown and reject Him, He will also deny and disown and reject us.” (Amplified)
  • Despite all we are suffering at the moment, let us not murmur, grumble and complain like people who do not have hope rather let us see it as a mark of our holy and righteous calling in Christ.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:6, “And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.” (KJV)
  • I want you to always bear in mind that this suffering is not unto death but unto salvation and redemption for when the eagle stirreth up the nest, the eaglets will be made ready for flight.
  • Let us not be like the wife of Job who lost the vision of the God whom her husband worshipped to the point of entreating her husband to curse God and die. Job could not allow the deceitfulness of the devil through his wife to blur his conviction of the God he worships.
  • Job 2:9,“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
  • 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” (KJV)
  • We can see that we never even suffered as much as our patriarchs who lived in caves and on mountains. Our suffering was lessened because of presence of the Son of Man, Apostle Peter Odoemena (Blessed be His Most Holy Name Forever).
  • Shall we then continue to grumble and complain at a time we should be thankful in all things expecting that it will be over sooner than we expected, for the same Christ for which course we are suffering is also the source of our consolation.
  • 2 Corinthians 1:5-7, “For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
  • And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
  • And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.” (KJV)
  • James enjoins us not to give up despite all that may come our way for we are not the first and the Bridal Movement is the consummation of the ministry of the Apostles and Prophets.
  • James 5:10, “Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.” (KJV)
  • We should learn to endure like a farmer who plants and waits patiently for it to germinate; waters it diligently, weeds it carefully and waits patiently as it bears fruits.
  • 2 Timothy 2:1-7, “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
  • And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
  • Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
  • Endure what? Hardness, like a good soldier of Christ. It is easy to say with the mouth that we are soldiers of Christ but in practice we faint.
  • Remember as a soldier, you cannot join the enemy forces or rebel against the authorities if not you will be charged with mutiny which attracts capital punishment.
  • As a soldier you cannot give up or run away because of what you are suffering if not you will be declared AWOL (Away With-Out Leave); the Military Police (MP) will be sent to find you and bring you back to face trial for absconding because you cannot fit into civilian life again.
  • If you are indeed an able soldier of Christ, you must recognize the authority of the Supreme Commander of Heaven’s Army, the Commander-in-Chief of the Heaven’s Host, in the person of Apostle Peter Odoemena, the Son of Man (Blessed be His Most Holy Name Forever).
  • You must be obedient to His instructions even when you don’t understand it for you are called to believe and to obey, and not to understand Him.
  • Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
  • The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.  Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.” (KJV) Amen.

REMEMBER THAT GOD’S WORDS ARE TRUE AND FAITHFUL

Let us see what the Message Bible said on this matter.

  • “So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ.
  • Pass on what you heard from me the whole congregation saying Amen! to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others.
  • When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did.
  • A soldier on duty doesn’t get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders.
  • An athlete who refuses to play by the rules will never get anywhere.
  • It’s the diligent farmer who gets the produce. Think it over. God will make it all plain.”
  • The troubles, sufferings and pains of this present life cannot be compared with the glory that is ahead. This should be our consolation.
  • Romans 8:18, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (KJV)
  • (Amplified) “[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!”
  • To you that have become weak and weary, do not give up or throw in the towel for it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
  • Luke 12: 32, KJV: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
  • ESV: “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
  • NIV: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”
  • AMP: “Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!”
  • Isaiah 41:10, KJV: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
  • ESV: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • NIV: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • AMP: “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God.
  • I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.”
  • Whatever you are going through at the moment is not peculiar to you alone for it was predicted by the Heavenly Visionary in our midst, Apostle Peter Odoemena, the Son of Man (Blessed be His Most Holy Name).
  • “Brethren, the essence of this, is for us to see the hour we are in. Remember as at 1993, 1994; the voice went forth that government will increase our hardship.
  • He then told us things that will take place and now, all these things have started coming to pass. Go to the message, Ministers Meeting, State of the Nation, you will see all these things as sited here. Before then God will first of all tell us all these things and before our eyes we will see them coming to pass.
  • And He is telling us that the bridegroom is coming, not that He is not with us, but our putting on of immortal bodies. For it will be an alert.”
  • (BE ON THE RED ALERT. Preached on 30th SEPTEMBER, 2012 at The Household of God Onitsha by Apostle Peter Odoemena, The Son of Man, The Rock of Ages; Page 56 Verse 23.)
  • The government don’t even care one bit about the suffering of the masses. This is God hardening the hearts of Kings and rulers so that His words might come to pass.
  • “The Son of Man has finished everything even before 2015. Your duty is to alert your brethren whenever each prophecy comes to pass.
  • He told you never to expect anything good again from the whole world including Nigeria. That the state of anarchy will keep on increasing. That your money will keep on losing its value.
  • (GOD IS KNOWN BY HIS ATTRIBUTES, Volume 2. Preached on Sunday 4th JANUARY, 2015 at The Household of God Onitsha by Apostle Peter Odoemena, The Son of Man; Page 74 Verse 2.)
  • Have you seen it. Naira has and is still losing its value on a daily basis. You take money to the market only to be disappointed at what you will be going home with.
  • Look around you. The level of anarchy all over the world today has never ever been recorded since the inception of the world.
  • A situation where human beings have become vampires and cannibals.
  • “Expect nothing good from the whole world henceforth. The water is about to finish. Salt has lost its value many years ago. It will be from worse to worst until the tank is completely washed.”
  • (BE MINDFUL OF THE WORDS THAT WERE SPOKEN AGAINST YOU. Preached on 4th JANUARY, 2012 at The Household of God Onitsha by Apostle Peter Odoemena, The Son of Man, the Rock of Ages; Page 26 Verse 18.)
  • So if you are hoping this present world will get better someday, you are lying to yourself for it gets worse with every passing day. It will continue like that until God calls it off and takes His elects home.
  • In the message, Golden Rule Preached on 18/9/2016 by the Son of Man, Chapter 2: 11-12, God pointed us to the time we are living in now, “We want to review that thing.
  • Untold hardship facing everybody now. There is no family that is not getting a fair share. For God said, “We must get our own fair share. But we cannot be the worst hit.” Are we not getting our own fair share?
  • If you say it is not coming to your own end, you are a liar!… We are marching on. We were told ahead of time; we can never be the worst hit. That government will increase our hardship through politics, the winner takes all. That is our political system.”
  • You cannot deny the fact that you are also getting your own fair share in one way or the other but we can never be the worst hit. God promised to take care of our needs and He has never failed in this regard.
  • “When God spoke on this matter He said that the bush fowl told her children that when they are taking the yam from the farm, they should take the root also peradventure the owner of the yam will take the yam; they will continue to feed on the root.
  •  For He knew that this great famine is coming, the Lord said, “Expect a great famine both of food and of the spiritual food.” The two at the same time, two-by-two preaching.
  • There will be famine of the true word of God; equally there will be famine of physical food. When hunger comes, and sickness comes, the two at the same time coupled with the fear of insecurity, what will happen to the individual? The heart will collapse.”
  • (BE ON THE RED ALERT. Preached on 30th SEPTEMBER, 2012 at The Household of God Onitsha by Apostle Peter Odoemena, The Son of Man, The Rock of Ages; Page 102 Verse 64-65.)
  • We should learn a lesson from this passage. We should learn how to live in the time of plenty and in the time of scarcity; the days of small things.
  • Remember, if there is nothing to suffer then there would have been no need of the scripture encouraging us to endure unto the end.
  • Matthew 24:13, “KJV: “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
  • ESV: “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
  • NIV: “But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”
  • AMP: “But he who endures to the end will be saved.”
  • (TMB): “Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved.”
  • We should also remember that God’s words are true and faithful. His instructions are not grievous for His plans towards us are plans of good and not of evil to give us an expected end.
  • Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (KJV)
  • TMB: “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
  • ESV: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
  • NIV: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
  • AMP: “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”
  • In all that comes your way my brethren in like precious faith, be happy, rejoice. Do not give the devil any room in your heart to torment you.
  • Philippians 4:1-4, “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
  • I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
  • And I in treat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.  Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. (KJV)
  • (Amplified) “Therefore, my brethren, whom I love and yearn to see, my delight and crown (wreath of victory), thus stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
  • I entreat and advise Euodia and I entreat and advise Syntyche to agree and to work in harmony in the Lord.
  • He that is quarreling should quarrel no more. If you are quarreling with God, make peace with him. If you are quarreling with your fellow human being, make things right. Have a conscience devoid of offense before God and man.
  • And I exhort you too, [my] genuine yokefellow, help these [two women to keep on cooperating], for they have toiled along with me in [the spreading of] the good news (the Gospel), as have Clement and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the Book of Life.
  • Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!”
  • May the Superlative Amazing Grace of Our Lord see us through in Christ name. Amen.To God be the Glory.
