the son of man

SPARE TYRE VOL 2 OF 2 Preached ON Sunday 16th April 2023 AT The voice of god studio Bridal Lodge, Nsugbe Anambra State, Nigeria BY Apostle Peter Odoemena THE SON OF MAN

Transcribed by Deacon David Mbah Students’ Fellowship, MOUAU, Abia State

Brethren, despise Me not for I am black. The crime of the black is always the same in every nation. A black man can never acknowledge anything good in a black man. Every good thing has always been attributed to the white, every evil attributed to the black. They are turning the record up-side-down. Brethren, accept Me. I am a black Man. I am your Kinsman Redeemer. The sun has acted on Me well well. Weather has acted on Me very well. Do not look down on Me because I am a black Man. I am your Messiah. I am the Gate. I am the Door. Without Me, you are not making any headway.

THE SON OF MAN

I AM THE DOOR; Preached on Sunday 12th February 2012 at the Household of God, Onitsha; Pg. 86 vs. 18 – 19.

YOUR BOAST WITHOUT CHRIST IS AN EMPTY BOAST

Now, I really want to appreciate everybody’s contribution to the Faith whether good or bad from both young and old. This is because the time of My departure is fastly approaching. I do not know what will happen today. Neither do I predict tomorrow. But whatever I see, I give God the praise.

  • Remember I appeared as a surprise to a small group one day. And I will depart from that group any day He calls Me home.
  • For now, we are not talking about Christ returning the second time. We know that He has appeared. We are not seeing the signs of His appearing.
  • SONG: [Christ has appeared. He has appeared. Christ has appeared. He has appeared to take us to the Promised land. Christ has appeared. He has appeared to take us to the Promised land.] 2x
  • If He does not come to take us, who then will take us, for He said, “I am going to prepare a place for you, after which I Myself will come back and take you to Myself, that wherever I am, there you shall be.”
  • You may know everything. But what you do not know is where He is taking you to. But the consolation is that wherever He is; any place that accommodates him, must accommodate Me. Even if it is on the mountain top, I will be there. In the valley, I will be there. In the ocean deep, I will be there.
  • The truth is that many do not know who is talking to them.
  • Because you know Me, let us go to Saint John Chapter 7 from verse 26 in Living Bible. I do not want to overflood this short exhortation with Scriptures.
  • John 7:25-30, Living Bible. [25]Some of the people who lived there in Jerusalem said among themselves, “Isn’t this the Man they are trying to kill?[26]But here He is preaching in public, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that our leaders have learned, after all, that He really is the Messiah?
  • Not “will be”. Since they could no longer lay hand on Him. They have seen Him Who they have been trying to kill. Now, He is not only in dark [hidden] places. He is now speaking in the open places, even making use of their synagogues and was opening his mouth wider than ever so that they could hear Him loud and clear.
  • Yet, nobody cared to lay his hand on Him anymore. Could it be that our leaders have become convinced that He is the Messiah.
  • [27]But how could he be? For we know where this man was born;… How could He be the Messiah. How can this Man be our Saviour? We know where He was born. We know his parent’s house. We eat and drink with Him.
  • …when Christ comes, He will just appear and no one will know where he comes from.” You see their own assumption. See their thinking and their imagination. And there are too many people like that among us.
  • People that have this kind of imagination can hardly obey God, for there is nothing that can refine their character. There is nothing they will fear. They will have charisma. Religious appearance is charisma. I say, religious appearance; pharisaical appearance.
  • When you see a Pharisee walking “Holy-holy; righteous-righteous”, and you think that is his character, but it is not. I call it Ngwa character, “Please sir, may your father never die, and may your mother never die”. Leave My father and My mother to die.
  • It is better you become violent so that I know that you are a violent man than to give Me the impression that you are a sheep, when you are stronger than a lion.
  • One who is said not to be a thief, but is always entangled with controversies of missing items, what is such a fellow called?
  • [28]So Jesus, in a sermon in the Temple, called out, “Yes, you know Me… He cried out in the Temple in a sermon, like I am here. He cried out to the hearing of everybody, “Yes! I can hear what you are saying about Me. Yes! No doubt! I am not disputing it. You know Me. You know where I was born. You know where I came from. You know My parents. You know My occupation”, for He was a carpenter by occupation, a despised occupation.
  • [28]So Jesus, in a sermon in the Temple, called out, “Yes, you know Me and where I was born and raised,… Where I was brought up. …but I am the representative of one you don’t know,… I am standing in the place of One you do not know. …and He is Truth.
  • [29]I know Him because I was with Him,… I know Him, for I was with Him before He sent Me to you. I have been with Him, even when the world was without form. I have been the Man on His right-hand side, born to righteousness.
  • [29]I know Him because I was with Him, and He sent Me to you.” [30]Then the Jewish leaders sought to arrest him; but no hand was laid on him,… Why? …FOR GOD’S TIME HAD NOT YET COME.
  • God’s time for His arrest was not yet come, for God works with time. That is why I am still here.
  • Many had already been wishing My exit long long time ago, for I have become a constant pest to them; something they do not welcome anymore. In short, to them, I have over-stayed My welcome.
  • For that reason, they are just sitting down and moping at Me. Not even one is believing again. Not even one is trying to live right.
  • For that reason, God said, “Go home! Go home! Everyman, be a shepherd to your own family. And then let us see what you will be in the end. Give to your family what you have.”
  • If when they were commanded to go home, you happened to be adopted to this Family where God Himself is the sole Minister, are you not a privileged person?
  • You see why every abuse is regarded as the worst blindness. Telling lies to One Who has the power to justify you; Telling lies to One Who has the power to pardon you, to set you free; and has the power to condemn you, is it not blindness?
  • Hiding your sickness before a physician and you want to be healed. How can he give you the therapy that will heal your sickness when you are concealing it before the doctor?
  • “My friend, what is troubling you?” and you began to stammer. The doctor will just ask you to leave his office and go and pay your bills. You have wasted your money to bribe him, this and that, but your sickness remains there, for you never disclosed it to the doctor. The doctor himself had already known that you are dying.
  • IF YOU DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WHAT I AM TELLING YOU IS THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, YOU MUST PERISH IN YOUR UNBELIEF. YOU MUST PERISH IN YOUR UNBELIEF.
  • WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A HUMAN BEING TO GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, AND LIVE HIS LIFE IN HELL?
  • All the promises of God are true. Not even one will fail. That is why He sent THE SON OF MAN, the same way Jesus Christ appeared in His own day to confirm the promises that were made unto the fathers, and to institute a New Covenant, away from that which He established with the fathers in the Wilderness.
  • A New Covenant He sealed with His own blood under an oath, and then the Ark changed from being a wooden Ark to a human Ark. Then, He became our Mercy Seat where we go and obtain mercy. In the same place, He became our Judgment Seat where we go and obtain judgment. The Mercy Seat is also the Judgment Seat.
  • The court that sets people free is the same court that condemns people to death or to life imprisonment. True or false? It is not another court. It is not another court.
  • There is nothing I will not use to illustrate God’s Mercy, God’s Love, God’s Compassion and His steadfastness. In the same way, I reveal His judgment, for I do not see Him as the God of mercy and love alone. I also see Him as the God of judgment.
  • If you do not see Him that way, the fear of God can never be in your heart. You will always be treating Him with contempt.
  • Reference: Jeremiah 9:24-25. 24But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord. 25Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will punish all who though circumcised [outwardly, in the flesh] are still uncircumcised [in corresponding inward purity]– AMP
  • So, what shall it profit Me if I gain the whole world? But can a man gain the whole world? Who has ever gained the whole world? Not even Nebuchadnezzar gained the whole world.
  • Man’s attempt to grab the whole wealth of the world has ended him in untimely death.
  • A young man aimed at getting it. He went to bed, and the LORD snuffed life out of him. Even the one he had, he could not enjoy.
  • No man has become so rich that he lacks nothing. No one has become so poor that he or she cannot get at least a favour from God or from humanity. Amen.
  • So, watch what you are thinking, what you are saying and what you are doing. Watch what you are manifesting.
  • I now want to read few Scriptures before we go. And these few Scriptures will take Me to the topic. I will give it a topic.
  • WHAT CAN A MAN GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL? FOR MY SOUL; FOR YOUR SOUL, WHAT CAN YOU GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR IT? IF I GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, CAN THE GAIN RANSOM MY SOUL WHEN DEATH STRIKES?
  • CAN WHAT I HAVE GAINED FROM THE WORLD RESCUE ME IF GOD IS AGAINST ME? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN GAIN IN THE WORLD THAT CAN GIVE ME ETERNAL LIFE? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN GAIN FROM THE WORLD THAT CAN GIVE ME PEACE, FOR IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE TROUBLES? BUT IN CHRIST, YOU HAVE PEACE.
  • Gain the whole world and you have amassed the whole trouble that is in the world. they are all upon you. You will remain restless all the days of your life.
  • A man that is given the whole money in this world will remain counting money till the day he will die, even without having time to spend any. God will pump the whole money in Nigeria into your hand and give you charge to count all and give Him the figure. Do not recruit anybody. Do it yourself. The odour from the money will even stifle you to death.
  • So, let us be very careful that among us are no big names. The biggest name remains the biggest since the world began. And that is Christ. If Christ is in Me, I am the biggest. If He is in you, you are the biggest.
  • But if Christ is not in you, you are nothing. You are nothing but a vapour—ordinary smoke. That is why the boast of man without Christ is vain. Your boast without Christ is an empty boast.

Have you seen the difference? If you are in the ministry of the Son of Man, you are in the Spoken Word Ministry. If you are in the ministry of the Apostles, you are in the ministry of the Church. You are in the ministry of the Written Word. Your God is in the written form. You are serving past tense God because, history is written after events. However, a prophet writes history before events. The son of man writes history before events. ……. That is why He said, “Don’t allow any man to fool you. The moment you see Me on the scene, greater than an Apostle is there. Greater than doctrine is there. Greater than history is there. Greater than Church order is there. What is there is nothing but the Spoken Word. The Word made flesh.”

SPARE TYRE [1]

I want to speak on a short exhortation for 3 minutes only, titled SPARE TYRE. S-P-A-R-E; T-Y-R-E. SPARE TYRE. Spare tyre. Even this topic is not a new topic. I have visited it several times from different perspectives.

  • What is a spare tyre? We have tyres in our vehicles, whether bicycle, anything or wheel barrow. Anything that rolls on the ground is tyre. It is expected to have a spare. Spare tyre.
  • Without the tyre, it will be very difficult for any vehicle to ply on the road smoothly and easily also. And when you watch the tyre, the tyre is made up of tube and then the outer cover which is the tyre itself. The tube is filled with air.
  • Whether it is aeroplane tyre or any other tyre, there is nothing occupying it but air. Who can believe that ordinary air can sustain the weight of all the passengers in an aeroplane without bursting? Using air and not water. Why must it be air?
  • Let Me put it the other way. The lightest thing anybody can use. It is not even fluid. I did not go to school. Otherwise, I would have coined out a scientific name for it.
  • The lightest thing that occupies space, that can be used to sustain the biggest aeroplane in the world; even the biggest ship in the ocean is air. There is no ship in the ocean without what we call buoy. B-U-O-Y. That is what sustains any ship at the sea or ocean.
  • I have been privileged to go there several times when I was there in the Nigerdock, Lagos as a field officer. I was in charge of dock workers. I descended to the lowest parts of the ocean where workers are seen working.
  • It is just like this River Niger. I cannot forget My experience there. That was in 1982 when I descended to the bottom of this River Niger to inspect the workers under Dragages Dredging Company who were reinforcing the bridge.
  • As a field man, I must get to where the last worker is working and note the environment. Once workers are there, and I have reasons that workers are there, by day or by night, the law empowers Me to go there.
  • I followed the row together with the expatriates and Nigerians, and it descended us there to see what they were doing there. We descended with the oxygen sac in that row. Whatever that sustained the workers sustained Me. For about 45 minutes, I was with them. I inspected the place and I had My photographs because you must produce evidence, for the government assigned a supersonic camera to Me.
  • I was permitted by law to take photograph of any work environment. I will not only find fault with you, but I will also take the photographs as evidence.
  • So, I have seen too many things with My eyes. Air occupies the greatest space in the whole world. True or false? The land mass is nothing to compare to the size of the world occupied by water. They are all earthly. Air is heavenly and also earthly.
  • Anywhere air does not exist, life can never exist there. So what occupies the largest part of the world is air. So, what is sustaining the world today? Air. Take away air, all of us will die in one second.
  • I do not want to go deeper into this air of a thing, but let Me look at this spare tyre.
  • Spare tyre is the most important tyre in every moving vehicle.
  • That is why Road Safety officials and police officers and all including VIO [Vehicle Inspection Officers] show greater interest in the condition of the spare tyre more than the owner of the vehicle.
  • Oftentimes, the vehicle owner thinks that the law enforcement agents are trying to extort money from them by checking those things. Some say it is irrelevant, but I want you to know that it is very very relevant. It is very very important. Very very!
  • The most important tyre in your vehicle is your spare tyre. That is why, if you do not have a good spare tyre, do not move your vehicle out. You have no right whatsoever to risk your life without spare tyre.
  • Do you know that owners of vehicles pay little or no attention to maintaining the spare tyre? They give their attention to the ones on the wheels. But the one that is hidden, that will come out under emergency and under critical conditions, they do not examine that one.
  • Now. Let Me put it this way. Dishes and plates you have in your house for everyday use, and the one that is used for special occasions, which one is more valuable? Which one is highly respected? Is it not the special vessel?
  • The one that comes out occasionally is the most important equipment in the house, be it cup, spoon or whatever you like to call it. Attention is always given to it because it is for special occasion. It does not come out often.
  • Those you use regularly, you fix your attention there. “Wash and keep” or “Wash and throw away” and things like that.
  • But that spare tyre is highly neglected. Take your vehicle to the car wash, they will wash all the other tyres but the spare tyre. Take your vehicle to the vulcanizer, he will check the air content [the pressure] of all other tyres except the spare tyre.
  • The spare tyre can only be remembered when the situation has gotten out of hand. Only the time when the vehicle has stopped on the way because of tyre puncture or tyre bust.
  • A driver may know everything, but he may never predict accurately where he will be when he will begin to have tyre problem. No driver knows where the tyre will bust. No driver knows whether it is going to be the front tyre or the back tyre. No driver knows whether it will be when he is carrying load or when he is running empty.
  • The spare tyre is very very important in every vehicle and should be given priority attention. Do you know that there is no distance that is short? “Let me go and pick my children from the school”, your tyre can disappoint you on the way where there is no vulcanizer and where there is no tyre seller.
  • Between your house and the school where you are picking your children, you are stranded. Then, you look for spare tyre. Is it not true?
  • As far as movement of persons is concerned, no distance is short. Short distances have gulped the lives of many. Somebody may excuse himself to get to a nearby place, but may never come back alive. Is it a lie Brethren? Good! I want you to see the reality.
  • Spare tyre! Nobody knows the place where the spare tyre will be needed. Nobody knows the importance of the journey. It can be when you are on an emergency trip, but along the way, your tyre will flatten and a spare tyre will be needed to mobilize you, but no market around and no human being in sight.
  • It can be in the wilderness where you may have to run up to 120Km before you can see a place where a tyre can be repaired or bought. Then if it happens there, you go for your spare tyre.
  • Now, I do not want to over-flog it. Since you have formed the habit of taking care of your daily tyres, your whole attention is geared towards the ones you are using, to the neglect of the one you hid under your motor, may be with the pretext that you will use it to take permission or as an excuse before law enforcement agents.
  • For that reason, you use worn-out tyre as spare tyre. For that reason, you use expired tyre. The one that is having too many patches. The one that is no longer road-worthy. This is because foolish people do not know the importance of spare tyre.
  • The best tyre; the strongest tyre, up-to-date tyre, road-worthy tyre that should be in any vehicle should be the spare tyre. Why? You do not know where the one you are using will fail you. And you cannot predict the distance between that place and where human beings will be in sight. What will be your fate then?
  • Spare tyre is something that no road commuter volunteers to give out his own. A road commuter can give out his jack and any other thing, but not his spare tyre. Understand the spare tyre and the importance of the spare tyre.
  • It is quiet, hidden, not nurtured, not taken care of, but plays the most vital role because it can only come out in critical times.
  • When the situation has become hopelessly hopeless with no help in sight. Crisis will set in that time. The forgotten tyre is bound to be remembered.
  • If there will be people who will stop to render help, they will ask, “Madam, do you have spare tyre? Let us help you replace it. When you get to the nearest market, you can buy a fairly-used tyre and continue your journey, for this place where you are parked is very dangerous. And besides, it is night.”
  • Then, if while they are willing to help you, they bring out the spare tyre only to notice that it is flattened, what will be your fate? It did not flatten that day. It flattened long long time ago and the owner never knew that the tyre had already flattened.
  • Why? It is not checked when others are checked. It is not nurtured like others. It is only remembered when the situation has become critical. If that tyre had been noticed to have flattened, and there is no vulcanizer in sight, what will be the hope of the road user?
  • Assuming the person is there with the entire family and they are stranded, two things are there. You may decide to wait for an on-coming vehicle to carry all of you to the nearest town and abandon the vehicle there.
  • But what if all the vehicles that are coming are filled with passengers and will not have accommodation to carry all of you at the same time? What do you do?
  • Spare tyre. The most important tyre in the vehicle that is grossly neglected by the road users. Spare tyre! The most important part of the journey, whether short journey or long journey. The most important partner in that journey is never examined from time to time.
  • It is never remembered until trouble has come. Spare tyre!
  • And then, in that critical condition when the tyre is noticed to be flat, [1] Confusion has set in. [2] The traveler has become disorganized. [3] Your brain will run helter-skelter.
  • [4] Fear of what is likely to take place will envelope the person, for you are not ready to forfeit your life and you are not ready to forfeit your vehicle, but all of them are now in danger because of your neglect.
  • What does it take to check the spare tyre every morning? Does it cost much? Just use your hand and touch it to know whether it has pressure enough.
  • You can check your engine oil and check your water. You can check your gear oil. You can check everything even your fire extinguisher, but how often do you remember the most important aspect of the trip you want to make to know whether it is still road-worthy. It is remembered only in critical conditions. Amen.
  • Many people among us use God as spare tyre. God is nothing but a spare tyre. They call Him in the time of need, and He responds. But a day is coming when you will call and nobody will be there to answer.
  • A day is coming when the spare tyre will not only be flattened, but will no longer be there, for the spare tyre is hidden in such a place that even if it falls off or is stolen by your mechanic, the owner can hardly notice it until he has a problem.
  • Only then will he notice that the spare tyre is not there. Maybe the mechanic who worked on the vehicle brought it down and dropped it somewhere, coupled the vehicle and the owner drove his vehicle away abandoning the spare tyre unnoticed.
  • This is because he does not attach any meaningful value to the spare tyre. So whenever he goes to anything mechanic or electrical workshop, no matter what is being repaired in his vehicle, he can hardly go back to check whether the spare tyre is still there or not.
  • Hence, oftentimes, the spare tyre may be lost for many months without the owner noticing it. Yet, he does not have two.
  • Even if it is a vehicle with 12 tyres or 20 tyres or as much as you can, it can only be assigned one spare tyre. Only one, not two. Your vehicle has four tyres or more, but one is assigned to be your spare. And the one that is assigned is assumed to be the strongest.
  • If you buy a new car and see the spare tyre, you can hardly believe that it can carry the motor. It is like a bicycle wheel. If you doubt it, go outside now, and you will see one of My own.
  • It can hardly flatten. It can be there for 20 years and remain as strong as it was from the manufacturers. And it is stronger than any other tyre in that vehicle, built and constructed in such a way that it can carry you to any length, no matter the distance.
  • This is to show you that a spare tyre ought to be strong and durable enough to carry you and the load inside that vehicle to the nearest place where you can buy a spare tyre or repair the one that is damaged.
  • For that reason, you dare not make the mistake of using one that is worn out—worn-out tyre; expired tyre. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Good!
  • Expired tyre is expired message, expired messenger, worn-out messenger, worn-out teaching that cannot sustain you in the current situation you are in.
  • What sustained William Branham cannot sustain you. The tyre is worn-out. So, you cannot use William Branham as your spare tyre. You cannot use Paul as spare tyre, Irenaeus, Martin, Columba, Luther, Wesley. You can never use any of them as spare tyre. They are worn-out. They have expired.
  • You have only but One assigned to you. A spare tyre, not two. And that spare tyre, how often do you check it? How often do you check the pressure? How often do you even check to know the expiry date? This is because it can expire there without being used for one day. How regularly do you attend to it, even washing it so that it can look clean?

In all the ways He has tried to introduce Himself using the holy Scriptures, because the prophet who foreran His coming told us clearly that He will come in a very simple way and will reveal Himself among His people in His Sanctuary; that the meekness, simplicity and humility that will be in Him will make His Ministry to fly ahead of many people. They said He will be greatly misunderstood. Only the Elects will recognize Him. He warned people. He said, “But the Scriptures will declare who He is.” In other words, He will know nothing but the Scriptures.

THE SON OF MAN

He has come, He has gone; Preached on 23rd September 2012 at the Household of God, Onitsha; Pg. 86 vs. 66 – 68

3

SPARE TYRE [2]

Many use God as spare tyre. First seek ye the Kingdom of God and its righteousness. Every other thing shall be added unto you.

  • And the son of man said, “In the beginning, God.” And that God must occupy the number one place in every human being. God is number one in any journey you want to make. In any plan you want to make, outside God, you are wasting your time. You are taking a risk.
  • He that has the capacity to approve and disapprove of all plans; to frustrate or support all your ambitions, is He not your strongest tyre? He is your strongest tyre in any journey you want to make.
  • But how often do we remember that? We can only remember His importance whenever we run into difficulties. Now, during difficult times, you now discover that that tyre, which you have neglected over months and years as the case may be, will now turn out to be your present help in the time of need, for aside that tyre, there is no other help in sight.
  • Then, if you have it and your own is okay, you will be glorifying God, “Thank God o!” Even if you do not know how to change it, a good Samaritan may come your way and help you to change it.
  • While driving, you will say, “Glory be to God. Assuming I forgot my spare tyre; Assuming I did not check my spare tyre; Assuming my spare tyre is not strong enough, what could have been my condition with my family. Thank God my spare tyre is okay and I am happy. I am happy that I am continuing my journey. It can even take me to my destination. When I get there, I can effect some changes.”
  • You will be comforted and comfortable because you know the state of the tyre, for the moment you put it there, it will be stronger and newer than the rest. You have more confidence in it because it is a brand new tyre—unused. It will never disappoint you.
  • I am saying that you disappoint your spare tyre before your spare tyre will disappoint you. you are the one that will first fail your spare tyre, for your spare tyre cannot check itself.
  • After checking the rest of the tyres in your vehicle, you bypass that one. After taking care of all the tyres, you neglect that one. To you, it is unimportant.
  • Why? Because you go places without touching it from year to year. That will now begin to give you the impression that your tyre will not disappoint you one day.
  • It shall be one day known unto the LORD. You do not know that day. You do not know the hour. You do not know where. And you do not know how it is going to fail you.
  • Then, that which you needed in that condition is your last hope, only for you to get there to notice it has already been flattened due to your willful neglect or ignorance.
  • It does not occupy a prime importance in all your plans because man has one nature. And that is decreeing God out of his plans, only to remember Him whenever they have run into difficulties with their plans, for there is no way you can run ahead of God without meeting difficulties on the way.
  • No man plans and succeeds without God’s backing. Do you believe that to be true? Even criminals that plan and succeed, the LORD God Almighty allows them to succeed to see whether they will get what will help them to change their minds, begin to act better and then become better citizens.
  • This is because God is exercising longsuffering on us all [everybody] not willing that any man should die, but that all should repent and come to God, for the Bible said that He is not interested in the death of a sinner.
  • Rather, He prays that a sinner should repent and come back to God so that he might be saved, for God never created you for destruction, but you decided to bring yourself out for destruction.
  • Reference: 2 Peter 3:9. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. KJV
  • God means well to everybody. God is never injurious to anybody, but human beings are injurious to themselves.
  • I am talking about this Spare tyre. This spare tyre that is only remembered during critical conditions, if it fails to respond during critical conditions because it flattened or because it has been punctured or it was lost by the owner, do you begin to blame the spare tyre.
  • The spare tyre is always faithful to the vehicle and to the owner, but the owner is unfaithful to the spare tyre. If you want your spare tyre to be faithful, please check the pressure. Before you move out, check it. When you come back, check it. For it plays a very vital role in all your movements with that vehicle. True or false?
  • Let me go out. I will be coming back in 10 minutes. Your tyre can keep you there the whole day without your spare tyre. You may not come back again.
  • What about those who lost their spare tyres but do not know where they lost them? You lost your spare tyre and you cannot say exactly where you lost it, whether it was stolen or abandoned, misplaced or forgotten.
  • This is because no matter how important that thing might be, the moment it is forgotten and it is stolen, you may not know. You do not make use of it. So, if it is stolen, you may not notice until many years after.
  • Then, you begin to accuse people nearby when you lost it afar. If you know where you lost it and the people there are sincere, if you go back there, you will see it. If they know where you are living, they will call you and bring it back to you, or tell you to come and carry it.
  • But oftentimes, the owner will say, “Keep it. I will come.” And they will not go again because they think that what they have can sustain them.
  • The reason why road commuters neglect the spare tyre is that they feel that the four tyres they have in their vehicle or that the four tyres they are using, depending on the range of the vehicle, that they are strong enough and that they will see them through. On the other hand, they feel, “If there be any problem along the way, I will know how to arrest it.”
  • How else do you want to arrest it if there is no vulcanizer and no tyre seller. There are too many markets where you can never find a vehicle tyre seller. There are places you run many miles without seeing a vulcanizer on the way.
  • Let Me use one instance for example. The day I was going to Eha-Amufu from Nkalagu junction. Nkalagu is in Ebonyi State. Eha-Amufu is in Enugu State. I followed Nkalagu junction enroute Eha-Amufu.
  • From Nkalagu junction till I got to Federal College of Education Eha-Amufu, I never saw a single vulcanizer. When I enquired, they said that vulcanizers do not stay on the highway, but that I should enter the town and then go to the market area where they have motor-parks, for that is where vulcanizers stay.
  • I said, “Why? Does it mean that along this your bad dilapidated road, vehicles do not spoil?” They said, “Yes! Vehicles spoil, but robbers and thieves parade it so much and harass people, that nobody can even dare try it, for they will carry the person and carry his vulcanizing machine.”
  • For that reason, anybody whose vehicle spoils along that road, you know how many kilometres, if he does not have a spare tyre, tell me what will be his fate. Amen.
  • We know everything, but we do not know where those people that know where they will meet problems will need the help of God. These are the people that do not pay attention to the spare tyre, for they know that they do not have God’s need.
  • “I do not have need of God. Why should I trouble God? Why should I call on Him? All is well with me, at least, for now. For that reason, what is the essence of troubling myself? Let me continue to live my life.”
  • Fine! Even that life you are continuing to live, you do not have, you do not know that somebody is piloting it. Even if all is well with you, you do not know that Somebody is the One holding it, and that the moment he removes his hand from you, accident of life will occur. Any day the LORD God Almighty removes His eyes from this world, accident of life must occur.
  • These people that think that they have their lives in their hands to decide where the rain will meet them on the way and where it will not meet them, they are too many in our midst. And these are the people that are giving this Faith a wrong interpretation.
  • These people’s mouths are full of complaining and murmuring ad grumbling, accusing God of favouring some people and disfavouring some people.
  • Hear Me very well. Your tyre you are not servicing can never favour you under flattened condition. Can it?
  • Who first did the disfavour to the tyre? You! You! You disfavoured the tyre. The tyre will also disfavour you in return. When the tyre is not being checked, it is not in your routine check, it is not remembered, it is forgotten completely, in the time of crisis on the highway where no help is in sight, your last bet is the spare tyre. How do you expect it to respond to your need? It does not have the capacity to respond to it because the air has been let out, and you know it not.
  • Maybe, even the valve and the cover have fallen away, and you know it not. And it is such that when you come before law enforcement agents, especially Road Safety, you will be bragging, “Why are you wasting my time? I have my spare tyre. Look at it!”
  • They will say, “Yes! We know you have your spare tyre. Can we please inspect it? We want to inspect your spare tyre please. It is for your own good and the good of your passengers.”
  • Then majestically and arrogantly, “Come and see! Come and see!” Before your eyes. they will use their boot on it and tap it a little. Then you will hear the sound of emptiness.
  • Carrying a flattened spare tyre along the highway is equivalent to carrying nothing. Carrying a tyre as spare tyre that is worn-out; that cannot help you in the time of emergency equals to carrying nothing. Amen.
  • I do not want to over-flog Spare Tyre. I have stayed more than 3 minutes. Let Me read this Scripture with you.
  • Psalms 118:17-22, Living Bible. [17]I shall not die but live to tell of all his deeds. I shall not die, but live to tell the entire world all the deeds of God.
  • [18]The Lord has punished me but not handed me over to death. He punished me, but He never handed me over to death.
  • [19]Open the gates of the Temple—I will go in and give him my thanks. Open the gates of the Temple. I will go in and gave Him my thanksgiving.
  • [20]Those gates are the way into the presence of the Lord, [Thank you!] and the godly enter there. [21]O Lord, thank you so much for answering my prayer and saving me. Because he nurtured the spare tyre. He now called Him in the time of need.
  • SONG: [Call upon Me in time of troubles. I will answer, says the LORD. Call upon Me in time of troubles. I will answer, says the LORD.]
  • Call upon Me in the time of sickness, the time of troubles, in the time of adversities, in the time of hardship. Call upon Me and I will answer you so that you will praise My Name, saith the LORD God Almighty.
  • He said, “How can you call upon Him Whom you do not believe, confide in, trust and obey?” How can you call upon the Spare tyre in the time of trouble, which you neglected over the years, and is flattened and you knew it not?
  • [22]The stone rejected by the builders has now become the capstone of the arch!
  • The tyre; the spare tyre that was neglected and set aside; treated as nothing; in this time of adversity; in this time of troubles, has become the indispensable tyre you are having. It has become the indispensable asylum. I mean the tyre you set aside with impunity and with contempt, has turned out now to be the indispensable tyre in your vehicle. The all-important tyre the first attention should have gone to.
  • And it does not cost much to maintain a spare tyre. All you have to do is to tap it. The moment it is done, it is all you need. But on others, you spend money. You use pressure gauge to gauge and so on, but it is not so with that one.
  • Any tyre can give the owner trouble from time to time, but not the spare tyre. Very quiet. Very silent. Others may be enjoying the pleasures of the road, but not the spare tyre because the spare tyre will collect sand and collect dust, collect clay and every kind of impurity, even animal dung will perch on the spare tyre.
  • When the owner goes to car wash, he washes all tyres except the tyre. So, the spare tyre suffocates under the vehicle where it is hidden. But because it is the strongest, it will stand the temperature of the body of the vehicle because it is in direct contact with the body. It withstands every adverse condition, even under the vehicle.
  • [22]The stone rejected by the builders has now become the capstone of the arch! [23]This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous to see!
  • Psalms 118:17-22, Amplified version of the Bible. 17I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord. … Recount the acts and the illustrious works of the spare tyre, of how important this spare tyre is to Me and how the spare tyre saved my life in the wilderness; How the spare tyre became my last hope when I was hopelessly hopeless. But I thank God I went with My spare tyre. Otherwise, I and my family would have perished. We would have been in danger of being carried away even by kidnappers. How important the spare tyre is.
  • 17I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord. It takes the living to share the testimony of his experiences. The dead has no testimony to share.
  • 18The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over to death. [Sure!] 19Open to me the [temple] gates of righteousness; I will enter through them, and I will confess and praise the Lord.
  • 20This is the gate of the Lord; the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall enter through it. 21I will confess, praise, and give thanks to You, for You have heard and answered me; and You have become my Salvation and Deliverer. Amen!
  • Who has become the salvation and deliverer? The LORD God Almighty Who came when He was called during critical times.
  • 22The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. 23This is from the Lord and is His doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
  • Amen. This is from God; His acts and His doing. And it is also marvelous in our eyes. He whose Voice they heard, “You know Me. You know where I was brought up. You know My parents. You know My occupation. When I am talking to you and pointing you to One Whom you knew not, but Who is in Me, I and the One have been one from the very beginning, and He sent Me to you.”
  • And then, the Stone the builders rejected, set aside, ignored and treated as nothing, today, has become the indispensable cornerstone of the building; the indispensable partner in the journey; in the plan-making and its execution.

Neglect the Voice of the Son of Man, you must land yourself in trouble; And at the end, you must come back to the same Voice. The highest favour God will show us, He said, “Is to remind us of His Voice we have not obeyed.”

SPARE TYRE [3]

Let us go to the words of the LORD Jesus Christ in the Gospel according to Matthew Chapter 21 verse 42. Anybody can read from any translation.

  • Amplified version. 42Jesus asked them, Have you never read in the Scriptures:… Have you never read from the Scriptures like we read now from the Psalms?
  • …The very Stone which the builders rejected and threw away… And did what? Threw away! The spare tyre which they treated as unimportant and set it aside and set His Words at naught has now turned out to be the indispensable partner. The life-giving partner has become all and all in your human plans including your eternal life.
  • 42Jesus asked them, Have you never read in the Scriptures: The very Stone which the builders rejected and threw away has become the Cornerstone; this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
  • Brethren, anything clearer than this? The LORD Jesus quoted this same Scriptures which we read in the Psalms. How many years spanned between the time of David and Solomon, and the time of Solomon and the LORD Jesus Christ? He came and quoted the same Scriptures that you may know that he proceeded from the Father.
  • Reference: Matthew 1:17. 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen, from David to the Babylonian exile (deportation) fourteen generations, from the Babylonian exile to the Christ fourteen generations. AMP
  • Be very careful the way you set aside the Word of God, for it has been proved that the Words spoken to us by the Almighty God is full of living power.
  • [there were spark in the electrical connection of the PA System] Something is troubling it. It is the wire. So, do not allow that thing to get burnt. It is too expensive. We bought it that time, but if you can price this thing today, we cannot get it the same way we got it that time.
  • So, whenever that thing is giving trouble, go there and know what is happening. It cannot be the microphones. Check that gadget very well.
  • You know the devil is not happy that we are using these things. People use them to make fun and to entertain the world with music and things like that, but we use them to serve God. Go and check whether light [from the national grid] has come.
  • Can you see? Fine! I am not a technician. I know Who I am. When you got there, you saw light. When you got there, you saw light. Is it not okay now? There is an aberration somewhere. The mains should not be clashing with the generator. There was a clash. After, you check it. And by tomorrow or next, the LORD willing, go and replace that thing. It is having adverse effect on our gadget.
  • Maybe because I said 3 minutes. I have over-stayed. It is not My microphone that is disturbing it. Something there is disturbing it. I can equally hear the noise. Is it not over-charged? Why is it not connected to the UPS? If it is connected to the UPS, come and sit down.
  • Sorry for the interruption. The enemy, the devil does not want us to continue with the Message, but I must continue. I say, I personally must continue.
  • My 3 minutes remains My 3 minutes. I have not altered it. It must be 3 minutes. The moment I come down from the pulpit, it then means My 3 minutes are expired.
  • So, the LORD quoted the same Scripture which the Psalmist equally referred to. And it is littered everywhere. Amen.
  • I want you to notice that the Message you have always set aside, has been noted to be the Message, the instruction and correction that solves your problem. Men are guilty of that, neglecting and setting aside the most indispensable Message their life situation needs. Do you believe that to be true?
  • There is no situation you are in which the Bible or God’s Word never provided the remedy. But your willingness, your eagerness and your courage to accept the provided remedy is your problem.
  •  So, be sure you take the right step—the right decision. There is no other way God can correct your error, bring you back to your normal senses and to good relationship with Him if not by pointing out your faults.
  • And after pointing out your faults, He will show you the remedy. That is grace and truth. Grace is to find your fault. Truth is to show you the answer. The law will only find fault with man, but it provides no remedy.
  • But grace and truth will find fault with you by sifting and analyzing your life, exposing you for what you really are, and then point you back to the remedy. Your ability to accept and practice the remedy is your salvation from that condition.
  • And the Word you have decided to set aside and ignore, because maybe you hate the messengers God is using, or maybe you hate the Message, for once you hate a Messenger, you must hate the Message.
  • On the other hand, you have decided to be insincere to yourself like the road commuter who claims he does not know the value of his spare tyre, but whenever trouble comes on the way, he remembers the spare tyre. Then the spare tyre becomes valuable.
  • I go over to another Scripture. Let us corroborate Scriptures. 1 Peter 2:6-12, Amplified version. 6For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honoured), precious chief Cornerstone,… Note what is laid in Zion.
  • A CHOSEN, HONOURED, PRECIOUS CHIEF CORNERSTONE. And that is what you make your spare tyre.
  • If it is not a chosen tyre out of all; if it is not a precious and honoured tyre that can carry the weight of the vehicle together with the load in case of any eventuality to the nearest community where help can be fully obtained; If it is not the state of the tyre, it is not worthy to be the last hope of the road commuter.
  • …and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him]… This is because he has found Him worthy. You believe in your spare tyre that it will carry you through. You are confident because you know it is new. You know the pressure is okay. You know it is even the strongest among the tyres you now have.
  • …and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be disappointed or put to shame.
  • 7To you then who believe (who adhere to, trust in, and rely on Him) is the preciousness; but for those who disbelieve [it is true], The [very] Stone which the builders rejected has become the main Cornerstone,
  • 8And, A Stone that will cause stumbling and a Rock that will give [men] offense; they stumble because they disobey and disbelieve [God’s] Word, as those [who reject Him] were destined (appointed) to do.
  • As those that set him aside and reject Him were destined and appointed so to do. They were ordained to disbelieve. They were appointed to disbelieve and to walk contrary.
  • No matter how you press it on them, they will be looking sober. But after that, what next. Some will tell you that it has ended today, the next minute, you see the worst.
  • 9But you are a chosen race,… But you are what? A chosen race. …a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation,… The royalty is already conferred on you if you are walking in the light as He is in the light.
  • 9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [GOD’S] OWN PURCHASED, SPECIAL PEOPLE,…
  • I do not believe God can purchase me, a special people, a dedicated one for me to disbelieve Him and begin to act contrary and tell lies before Him with straight face, or even try to make God a liar when I am holding the evidence against myself in my hands.
  • It takes a naked devil; a hard-hearted devil to manifest that, like Ananias and Saphira who found it easy to tell lies with straight faces before the Almighty God, and they never knew that was their last days. Did they get out of the temple again? No! That men will see and fear before the LORD.
  • Was it the Old Testament? Was it under the laws of the Jews? It happened under grace and truth in the New Testament church.
  • 9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
  • You display His perfections. You display His perfections in your life. You display His holiness and righteousness in all your doings.
  • 10Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy. 11Beloved, I implore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower nature) that wage war against the soul.
  • 12CONDUCT YOURSELVES PROPERLY (honourably, righteously) among the Gentiles,… Among the heathens …so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection…
  • In the day of what? Inspection. Who does the inspection? So, God inspects every man’s works and rewards accordingly after the result of His own inspection, for there can never be inspection without result.
  • Has God inspected your works and proved it to be perfect? Do you know that God will inspect it? Do you know that every man’s work will be inspected by God?
  • 12Conduct yourselves properly (honourably, righteously) among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection [when God shall look upon you wanderers as a pastor or shepherd looks over his flock].
  • Does it make any meaning?
  • 1 Peter 2:12, Living Bible. [12]Be careful how you behave among your unsaved neighbours; for then, even if they are suspicious of you and talk against you, they will end up praising God for your good works when Christ returns.
  •  Amen!
  • 2 Timothy 2:15, Living Bible only. [15]Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work. Know what his Word says and means. Amen.
  • With these few words of exhortation, I say thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to exhort you in this Holy Studio today.
  • I am believing God that as many as will hear My Voice today from afar will know exactly that God does not merit the position we placed Him in our hearts and that we are merely playing the second fiddle while serving God. We are placing God either second or last. We only remember God during critical times, but when all is well with us, we do not remember God.
  • Prophet Muhammad Raheem made it clear that if Allah has revealed Himself to you, and you are sure and certain about Him, run to Him, swear your oath of allegiance to Him. Take your decision never to draw back from following Him.
  • Reference: Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani, p. 252. If Allah permits you to see this run to swear allegiance to Him [follow Him] and never abandon Him. If you are successful, never abandon Him if you reach Him and find the true path. Ah – and he pointed to his chest – how I long to see him. Let nothing hold you back from swearing allegiance to Him [from being His follower, from following Him] those who hold you back are those who have always sought refuge in corruption. If they speak, they speak evil, and if they are silent, they are impious and perverse.
  • And be ready to bear all the hurts that will be associated with your decision to serve Allah in spirit and in truth. He is the One that will lead you straight to Paradise.
  • If He has blessed you, forget Him not with your blessings. Did the Holy Qur’an say so? It is very clearly written in the Surah. Finally, He said, “Walk alone. Do not walk with the majority, for the majority can never serve Allah rightly.”
  • References: [1] Surah 14:12. 12“No reason have we why we should not put our trust on Allah. Indeed He Has guided us to the Ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us. For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah.” Abdullah Yusuf Ali Translation.
  • [2] Surah 2:199. 199Then pass on at a quick pace from the place whence it is usual for the multitude so to do, and ask for Allah’s forgiveness. For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. Abdullah Yusuf Ali Translation.
  • Allah is worshipped and served by individuals. And He rewards people as individuals. He receives us as individuals. Everything we do here on earth must be seen from the individual angle.
  • If you like, pile your lots together. God knows who placed who or which. If you like, put your hand in the offering bag, God knows who does that and what he puts in there.
  • The LORD was the One Who noticed the widow’s mite, not Peter; not James and not John. And the widow never consulted God physically before going to the offering bag. But the Almighty can look into the offering bag and separate every coin, and place them where they belong to. He knows the owners.
  • Every hand that giveth there, the LORD sees it, whether by transfer or physically, the LORD seeth all. He knows all, even those that gave counterfeit deliberately or ignorantly. They gave counterfeit.
  • If you give your mother in-law counterfeit, have you spent the money? You have not spent the money. Rather, you have dented your record before your mother in-law, that she merits nothing good, but counterfeit. Apology is needed before you can withdraw it from her mind.
  • So, let us be very very careful. God should occupy the prime place in the life of every creature, every human being, irrespective of where you are coming from.
  • There is no being who is alive, who was dead or who is dead or who will die tomorrow that has not benefitted from God’s largesse. Even to be born alive on earth is a blessing from God. Staying alive till today is a blessing from God.
  • When you look around yourself, what do you see? Do you see God’s blessings or do you see God’s hate?
  • All I am trying to say is that a human being that does not place God first in his or her life is not worthy to live. Thank you!
